After that, the yellow ladies light up an R while on the Mystery Wedge next to the MDW. Of course they're going for it...and it's $10K! But then comes LAT. A little later, the S.F. sisters KNOCK THEMSELVES OUT with the L while on $3,500. The brothers then BANKRUPT again, prompting the yellow ladies to solve...

What's going on in Bonusland? The last three trips there have been HEARTBREAKING- first the one-letter missolve on the season finale & now the two late solves to start this season. I got the bonus puzzle w/ just the RSTLNE.
At least we got another solid maingame tonight.

-Tossups: The first one I got quickly while I got the other two a couple letters before the solve attempts. -R1: Good round for the sisters but why did they have to leave the R's unclaimed? -R2: Great to see this category again and I got it with just the B and the E's! This was an awful round. I can't believe the sisters forgot about these lyrics and it really cost them dearly. And the guess by the brothers made no sense. I can picture a desert and Oklahoma would not be appropriate for this scenario. -R3: Another ugly round. LILTIETH STATE, eh, blue team? I'm not gonna go there. -R4: I got it just before those P's appeared. -Bonus Round: This one I got with just the RSTLNE as well. We better not have a bad habit of bad timing solves this season... EPISODE RATING: 5 out of 10

This is getting stupid... I wasn't expecting to see the same episode as yesterday tonight.
Also, apparently What's That Song is just some super rare thing we see from time to time to illustrate how bad the contestants can be sometimes, and even to get a rare buzzout. Awesome.
Let me know when the BR will stop being frustrating, please.

Well, this episode was better than the last one. First Two Tossups: I didn't get the first two tossups (missed that part), but some people can argue that the perfect host is Bob Barker and not Pat. Round 1: WHY did the Blue team solve when there were FIVE Rs? Not such a perfect round after all. Round 2: T on the Gift Tag wasn't a good move... and oh, oh, oh, why didn't you spin or buy a vowel if you didn't know it, Majekodunmis? Round 3: Well, nice mystery win by the yellow team! However, there were a bunch of mistakes this round. One, the puzzle was OBVIOUS. There should be NO excuse for not knowing it at that point, blue team. And T on te WC was just... bad. Try to learn that you'll waste money if you pick T on cardboard! Third Tossup and Round Four: Missed the third tossup and the blue team never ceases to disappoint me. WHY did you pick vowels (bad ones too) that aren't worth anything instead of consonants! Thank goodness they lost. Bonus Round: There should be no excuse for not getting that puzzle... I got it with RSTLNE. Episode Rating: 6/10Overall View: Well, it was an episode of errors, but the Yellow team not screwing up with the wheel is why the rating is so high. Please don't have any more contestants like the blue team. Please.

Umm...this is Wheel of Fortune, right?
All I saw tonight were tons of fails...Bankrupts, missolves, and blowing a fairly easy $3000. There were a few shining moments- turning over the Mystery Wedge to find $10K and managing to get it back was nice to see- but there was just so much frustration before and after that moment...
Seeing What's That Song? show up was pretty cool...but the way it ended wasn't.
$7500 cash prize? That's just lazy...and bad on the budget.
BR frustration continues again...I knew it right off of RSTLNE as well. Le sigh...
OVERALL: 2.5/5.

Nothing bad on the budget - Maxwell is probably sponsoring a good portion of it, if not all.

IMO, this was a perfect example of why premiere week should NOT be a team week.
TU1&2: This was pretty much the strongest point for the blue team. They really went downhill from there, but at least they managed to bag some cash early.
R1: I didn't catch the 5 wasted R's till someone mentioned them in chat, but this is just the first example of several wasted multiples through the show. Not sure if the blue team really wanted to solve there or if they were just thinking out loud, but this is the last bit of success they had in the game.
R2: This gets the nomination for "Worst Round of the Season So Far" in my book. A triplet (the M's) were wasted on cardboard. The red team couldn't get the $3,000 from the rare bonus category. And the blue team... I'm at a loss for words - you could hear them trying to discuss and figure out the solution during their solving time. Well over 10k (I believe closer to 15k) blown because they were careless here - if they make this solve, they (probably) win the game.
R3: The waste gets worse: a quartet blown on the Wild Card, and then the red team never even gets to use it because it's lost no more than two spins later. Bankrupt ran rampant here, but it's the yellow team that comes out ahead by way of the Mystery and PP. It's their only money of the whole game, but the combined $16,750 ends up being enough to win.
TU3/Speedup: A valiant effort by the red team to claw their way back into it, but their bad Wheel luck earlier means they come up short.
Bonus: I admit to failing this one, but it's still painful to see another 11-second solve. I hope the 1/2 Car coming to the maingame doesn't mean we see budget-mode puzzles in the Bonus Round this season.
Overall: Round 2 and 3 really spoil the rest of the episode - 3/10.

I was completely clueless on R4. All I could think of was SPRING-something on the top word. Also, MY isn't a word you'd usually expect in a Food & Drink puzzle, so that threw me even more.
But I got R1 with no letters showing.
Also, I swear the blue team's scoreboard didn't show BANKRUPT when they hit it early on in R3.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't What's That Song? use the High Rollers chimes like all the other "$3,000 bonus" categories? I didn't hear the chimes today.

R1: Hello?! FIVE R's were waiting to be cashed in on! R2: Nice to see this category show up again. Girls...don't solve if you're not sure, 'kay? And how did the guys not know the song? Anytime the song is a traditional song, there's no excuse for it to be missed. R3: Despite all the Bankrupts, it was nice to see the first $10,000 win of the season. I'll admit that I didn't know the second word at all. :-[ I was thinking of an adjective. I've said it many times before, but the audience needs to cheer for the top dollar value. It sounds so...wrong when they don't. I guess this IS becoming the norm. R4: Anybody else think this was worded kind of oddly? The "MY" wasn't really necessary... Bonus Round: Knew it with RSTLNE. Something tells me they knew it was "ROOM" the whole time, though. Stop wasting your guesses when you know you're only going to fill in what you know! And I can't believe we had ANOTHER post-buzzer solve. (Also, the "aww" as soon as she said the answer was canned... ) This show was pretty frustrating. Something tells me the blue team hasn't seen the show much. They seemed very hesitant most of the time, though it could have just been nervousness. The chimes were never heard last season. It's a shame they never were. That's my favorite WOF sound effect (well, if it can count as being from Wheel, since it started on High Rollers ). I really hope they still use it if any other trivia categories are used this season.

Well, I thought tonight's episode couldn't be any worse than last night. Boy was I wrong. It started out okay, but then it just got plain ugly in the next two rounds. No reason for the blue team to completely freeze up while solving the second round puzzle. Yes, I realize that there's a lot more pressure on you when you're playing in the studio as opposed to playing from home, but that's still no excuse. And then when the red team solved that same round two puzzle, their guess for the bonus money made absolutely NO sense. Since when is Oh Give Me A Home Where The Buffalo Roam from Oklahoma. Needless to say, the blue team freezing up trying to solve the round two puzzle was the turning point of tonight's game. Everyone else pretty much covered the ugliness of round three with the Bankrupts, so I'll skip that part. But the bonus round, that's another story. Another puzzle that was easily solvable and they still blew it. As whammy007 put it, and did so perfectly I might add, this is why you NEVER start a season with teams. I'm going to really hope and pray that tomorrow night's episode will be much better than this one was.

What a disaster in round 2. The ladies freeze up on the solve and then a terrible answer for the bonus question. I don't think we'll ever have an easier bonus to get either.
And another just after the buzzer bonus round loss! Man! This season is definitely off to a rocky start.

Wow, this was beyond ugly, as team weeks can sometimes get. In particular, that missolve in round 2 was just painful. I do wonder if maybe she did have an answer in mind and then just totally blanked from nervousness when she attempted to solve (and the other team member had no clue). That's about the only possible explanation I can give for why that happened, just ugly to watch. And then, once the puzzle was finally solved, not identifying the traditional song where it came from was weird. They usually try to make these songs easily identifiable on purpose, but maybe this kind of category just doesn't work anymore on the show.
The bonus round was also pretty ugly to watch with another 11-second solve. Thank goodness it was only 30. Surprised to see a -QU pop up early in this season - are we going to be making BRs a bit harder this season? It seems all around the show is trying to save money where it can.
It was nice to see a mystery $10,000 won but that's really the only great thing to take away from tonight.

In R2, I wonder what prompted the early B call; perhaps they thought it was Song/Artist (for "BY").
Didn't get R4 before they solved it, wasn't expecting MY either.
The BR wasn't too bad even off RSTLNE, that second word was obvious given the category.
