Okay, after finally getting my butt in gear and updating my PS3, I can now play some of my games online. I have Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! and I'm going to be getting TPiR Decades downloaded hopefully today. I'd love to play with some of y'all. I'm not really sure how to find you or for you to find me. If you're interested in challenging me, let me know! ;D By the way, I'm iluvwof when you're looking for me. On Wheel, I will be playing Private Single. So let me know how exactly I need to find you.

I'd play you...if I had a PS3. If only the Wii had better online capabilities...I'd love to challenge you and others to the WOF Wii game...get with the damn times, Nintendo!

I know, right? I have Wheel and J! for the Wii. It's strange to me that they don't have online playing capabilities with those games. Maybe the Wii-U will be better in that department...

It's not mainly Nintendo to blame, it's the lazy developers fault. The Wii can do online just fine as shown by several games (Mario Kart Wii, Rock Band [except RB1], numerous shooting games). Sadly, there may not be a Wii U version of Wheel or J! as THQ hay have dropped the licenses for them as they did with their other casual licenses like Nickelodeon. If they did, someone else will have to pick up the rights...and that will probably be Ludia. FTR, I e-mailed Pipeworks and messaged THQ on Facebook asking if they still have the rights...no response. But let's not forget that the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad versions of Wheel have online using Game Center. I play it with Sanam all the time.

Ludia?!?! Oh shit...we're screwed now...Well, I'll give them props, I guess. TPiR Decades does seem to be the best thing they've done yet, but that's just me...

There's no sign of Ludia owning a Wii U or even a 3DS devkit, so we'll see. With any luck, maybe Pipeworks can still develop it if another publisher gets the rights assuming THQ doesn't have them anymore.

Considering their track record as of late, I don't want Ludia developing the next WOF game.

I have the Xbox 360 version, and I can tell you it's crap -- new contestants appear out of nowhere, the theme music is all Carey-era stuff, there's no clips of the prizes (just still shots with the models airbrushed out), no actual hosts or announcers (except Randy West, and even he sounds bored), they couldn't even get the basic point of Hurdles right, games are still played for cash, the Showcase Showdown is botched worse than I've ever seen it (here's a leader, you get two spins to beat him; tie him on the first spin, you have to spin again), and everything is just so bland and lifeless. The 2010 game was far better.

Well, I was reading some info on the PS3 version of Decades, and they said most (if not all) of the glitches from the other formats had been corrected in this version, such as losing 3 Strikes but still being declared a winner, just as an example. As soon as I can get to a place that doesn't sell just $50 PSN Cards, I'm going to buy a card and download the game. It's only $9.99, which isn't too bad, IMHO.
Back to what I was trying to find out in this topic, who here uses the PlayStation Network? I have 0 friends, and I don't know how to find any since this is my first time really trying to use it. Again, I am iluvwof (I want to change that but I'm not sure how to do it.). Thanks!

They did the exact same thing with Press Your Luck 2010 -- the PS3 version has an actual looping Big Board sound and actual prizes, just as an example. I don't like it when consumers are used as guinea pigs for crappy games (see also Final Fantasy XIII). Ludia's track record is mostly crap, The $1,000,000 Pyramid being a shining example of how much you can eff up a game show license.

At least all the "Price is Right" games were decent? How did Millionaire and Hollywood Squares come out, I know Amazing Race wasn't done very well. While it was two player and it had good clips, the game was kinda repetitive and boring. Small selection of games and playing the same thing over and over again didn't help.

How did Millionaire and Hollywood Squares come out Not sure if you're asking hypothetically, there, but hey... * Millionaire I think was a victim of bad timing, being released a week before the current "Super Mix" format was instituted and pretty much becoming outdated upon release. * Squares was mostly fine, except the four celebs promoted on the box all rotated in the center square; the other eight in each game were literal nobodies where Tom just gave an answer that you had to agree/disagree to. And you guys wonder why I just plain don't PLAY video games...

Considering their track record as of late, I don't want Ludia developing the next WOF game. That's an understatement. To me, WWTBAM is their only good game, which I played for three days straight and then never played it again. Ludia's track record is mostly crap, The $1,000,000 Pyramid being a shining example of how much you can eff up a game show license. You mean The Instant Win Pyramid?

Ludia's track record is mostly crap, The $1,000,000 Pyramid being a shining example of how much you can eff up a game show license. You mean The Instant Win Pyramid? Yeah, it had absolutely no replay value. Oh, and "Party Mode" is for two players only...and it's just the game giving clues until someone "buzzes in" to guess. Had they actually tried to adapt the classic mid-1980s format/music/sounds/set/graphics, the only complaints would've been the graphics and such. But adapting Donnymid was pretty much setting themselves up for failure (and prerelease shots showed the Osmond-era logo on the monitors). I've thought about getting it through GameFly so my brother and I can make fun of it...because really, it's not worth much else.

Er... wow. This discussion is crazy. Anyways, the ONLY Ludia game I've ever enjoyed was TPiR 2010 for the DS. Have like $4,000,000 on my profile. I have no life. But yeah. Pipeworks made WOF and J! look good. But my favorite trivia video game is You Don't Know Jack.

What I find, in some ways hilarious, I suppose, is that certain games in the 1990s supported online play (via modem of course), some of which included Wheel of Fortune Deluxe (Gametek 1994 and possibly the 1996 version), Jeopardy! Platinum Edition (1996), yet the Wii versions of J! & WoF and TPiR (1st edition and 2010) don't...I wonder if it was that they couldn't support it or if they just plain didn't want to include it? Either way, it's ridiculous to me...

I'd say a mix of both, plus not wanting to go through the extra effort from Nintendo. If GameTek were still around, I wonder if their Wii versions would have supported it...

Well, for a little over a week now, I've had TPiR: Decades for the PS3, and I have to say I love it. I've already unlocked all the games in the archives; all I'm working on now is the bonus videos. I had mixed feelings before I played the game, but I quickly fell in love with it. I love all the classic items and such you get to bid on an play for, and they did very well in recreating the pricing games, especially the retired ones. Though, I don't see why some were in the archives twice, i.e. Golden Road, Money Game, and Plinko. I know the sets were updated, but still, they could have added different ones instead of repeating some of the same one. I was really surprised that Grand Game and 1/2 off didn't make the game. I wish they hadn't airbrushed the models out, but I can see why they did. Now, I'm just looking for someone to play it online with me, although I don't like the multiplayer mode that much at all. Oh, and I can see why Professor Price was retired...I don't understand the game AT ALL and I won it twice!
