The only real weird element is that all three scores are locked in rather than just the score of the player who solved. There is likely another rule that Free Spin tokens are not carried over to the next round based on gameplay that I've seen (I've even done several UK recaps), but I don't know if it's simply a force of habit.
What I'm sure would be a force of habit is the disproportionately high number of left-handed spinners compared to the US version. That might have just been because of Brad Walsh's left-handed spins.

I feel like this is worth bumping the thread back up. Somebody by the name of Edmund Dustin uploaded a bunch of episodes featuring Bradley Walsh. Check it out! www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVUDKzSvryg

Well, it's been more than two years since anything was put up in this thread, but if you want news thiswheel13 , you'll get some. I'm not a fan of April Fool's jokes at all. So I hope this is not one of them. I just heard some talk over at YouTube that Wheel of Fortune could be coming back to the United Kingdom. The British had recently brought back Blockbusters, Catchphrase, and Millionaire. If all goes well, Wheel may very likely be next with former letter turner Jenny Powell being Pat Sajak's new British counterpart. After a Google search, I learned that she's had actually been trying for years to bring it back. The revival is yet to be confirmed (again, this could be some lousy April Fool's joke, but after the Google search, the chances of this being a joke seems to be less likely). With that said, I do not want anyone to get their hopes up at this point, but if you have any thoughts about this, please share them. Do you think this will go well? As for my thoughts, I believe part of the reason the original show ended was that the gameplay format was becoming bland and outdated. Nothing really seemed to change until the addition of the Gamble wedge, but even that didn't really seem to help. That and the set change probably came way too late to save the original show. If they can add some elements to the Wheel to make gameplay fresh and more exciting, the revivial - that is if it happens - has a good chance at succeeding.

Toss-Ups or something that doesn't require spinning would make perfect sense. It would seem some pure skill needs to be involved overseas, but if they want general knowledge questions, it would have to be like the old $3,000 bonus.

I am sorry to bump an old thread, but I just came across this video recently uploaded onto Youtube... Probably right before the series ended in the UK. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BuNywPL6yU

It's possible, or he may have temporarily filled in for Hendy. Now the big thing I wanted to discuss was the Gamble wedge. I've been waiting like - What? - seven years just to see how that thing worked. From the looks of it, it's kind of like a combination of the American Express wedge and the Polish Mystery wedges. If that's the case, it's certainly a predecessor of those elements. When you land on it, you have a choice to make. One, simply go for 500 points per letter. Two, gamble your round score. In either case you have to call a letter. If you gamble your points and call an incorrect letter, it's a Bankrupt. If you gamble your points and call a correct letter, your score is increased. How it's increased, I don't know, but here's what I know. Joe gambled 250, got a letter that appeared once and his score increased to 1500. Terry gambled no points, got a letter that again appeared once, and her score increased to 2000. Maybe it's random? Possibly increased to a random multiple of 500? Really sorry for chatting on an old thread,Possibility the 500 points per letter would be added, then the score would double. Maybe in a certain round points double.

I actually figured out that the 500 per letter would be added and then your score would be doubled. For example: You have 3,200 points before hitting the Gamble space, then gamble and find two M's for 500 each, so 1,000 points for the call. Those 1,000 points bring you to 4,200, and then that score is doubled to 8,400.
Standard 2x points rules in Rounds 3 and 4 apply to the Gamble space like they do to any other normal wedge. Disregarding that, the Gamble space works exactly the same way throughout the game.
