Hello! I'm Zachary. I love game shows, including Wheel of Fortune (of course), Jeopardy!, The Price is Right, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Double Dare (hosted by Alex Trebek), Card Sharks, Catch 21, Lingo, The $10,000/$20,000/$25,000/$100,000 Pyramid, 1 vs. 100, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, Match Game, Chain Reaction, Deal or No Deal, Merv Griffin's Crosswords, Family Feud, Wipeout (The Red Big Balls), and a bunch more I don't think I could mention all at once. Did I mention Wheel of Fortune? Oh yeah. I did. (Yeah, I know, it was a lame joke. ;D) Anyway, I'm excited to be a new member here, and I hope to have a wonderful time here. Sincerely, Zachary Zachodon P.S.: By the way, does "Fish Love" mean? I just noticed it in the puzzleboard on the banner on the top of the page, haha. P.S.S.: How does the "Karma" system work? I think I pressed a random button below the Karma counter on a member here before. Sorry if it was something bad and it was you. I didn't know what it was.

Welcome, Zachary! As for FISH LOVE, I will direct you to member WayoshiM's YouTube video on the subject. And for the karma...that's to show how well you think a person is doing. Exalt if you think a person is doing well, and smite if you think they're doing...not so well. (Don't change Prizes', cu2010's, or mine, however. We have our karma set to the numbers we want. )

"Fish Love" is just a bit of a joke, and the site's "alternate" nickname...it's a mis-solve actually done on the real show a few years back, and it's funny. The "karma" system, simply put, is like your site reputation. It's fairly meaningless in reality, but it's more for fun than anything. Basically, you can either choose to Exalt someone, which adds one point to their karma, or Smite them, which deducts one point. Welcome aboard! (And holy shit, three of us posted at roughly the same time...)

Oh. Thanks for the explanations. Yeah. Fish Love. I forgot whose Karma counter I had clicked below of. Is there a way to tell whose Karma counter you had recently changed? And I'm sorry if I had changed Prizes', cu2010's, or yours.

Ah, I see. Thanks! By the way, how do you get the America's Got Talent Judge Buzzer X's as your avatar? Is it used to distinguish Staff Members from Members? Zachary Zachodon

I made them personally for the site staff. And, yes, they're used to distinguish the staff from the regular members. We occasionally like to have our own special series of "staff avatars".

Welcome, Zachary. I love game shows, including ... Merv Griffin's Crosswords Eh, that was give and take for me (mostly give), but this isn't the place for that. I also saw Lingo in your list; does that include the Engvall version GSN did last year? Just curious.

Thanks By the way, what did you mean by the "give or take" part? And regarding Lingo, I grew up watching the Woolery version, so I guess my liking of Lingo is really towards the Woolery era. However, I've watched a couple of episodes of Lingo hosted by Bill Engvall. I guess he's alright, but he's no Chuck Woolery. Zachary Zachodon

By the way, what did you mean by the "give or take" part? Crosswords was a good concept with a half-decent set, but the host was also a robot, they apparently couldn't afford to use a studio audience, the payouts were laughably cheap (the most anyone won was about $17,000), and the format was pretty botched (primarily the fact a Spoiler can do nothing but stand there and answer just one question that happens to be the last of the game). Still, it was better than Temptation, which just flipped off fans of both the 1980s $ale and the Australian Temptation. And regarding Lingo, I grew up watching the Woolery version, so I guess my liking of Lingo is really towards the Woolery era. However, I've watched a couple of episodes of Lingo hosted by Bill Engvall. I guess he's alright, but he's no Chuck Woolery. Engvall was fine working with what they gave him; it was just the plethora of unnecessary changes that brought the show crashing down (such as the crappy hint-system that skewed contestants toward vulgarity due to having been vulgar themselves). Playing for cash? Fine, no problem. It was just that half the game (the Lingos) became an afterthought because the rounds had a certain predetermined length...plus the fact the "$100,000 Game" removed the "luck" half and was far too easy for that big a payout (although they "balanced it out" by getting morons and delaying word reveals to eat up time). By the way, have you ever seen the original 1980s version? (And yes, I know I deliberately avoided having to use anything of a certain letter length. ) Zachary Zachodon Curiosity question: why do you sign with your name and username?

I have seen a couple of episodes of the 1980s version of Lingo on YouTube. Regarding the name and username signature, I feel that is an appropriate way to end my messages. If this bothers you in any way, or if this is against the rules, or anything else applies, please let me know, and I will change that immediately (Here we go again, haha! ) Zachary Zachodon

Regarding the name and username signature, I feel that is an appropriate way to end my messages. I disagree. That's what profile signatures are for. Adding your name to the end of every post just wastes space, especially when we can clearly see who writes each post by just looking at the username.

Engvall's version also had only the winners keep the cash they won before they went to the Bonus Round, just so you know. (I didn't watch any of it either, 'cause I didn't have GSN at the time; and I haven't had it since Fall '06)
