Janet hits Free Play and goes for another dud in U. She spins again and puts up a pair of S's, then L and the last vowel, I. After putting up M…

Jay identifies the NFL's ARIZONA CARDINALS.
Round 4: Event[/u]
Jay gets T and N up when the bells sound.
_ _ T T _ N _ / T _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ T
Final Spin time, at $1,600 a pop:
H _ T T _ N _ / T H _ J _ C _ P _ T
Kamela says J and, while she's not HITTING THE JACKPOT, she does get $1,600.
Dud: S (Kamela, after Speed-Up)
End totals: Jay: $19,425 Kamela: $1,600 Janet: $1,950
Bankrupt Trash: None! ==== $100,000 Bonus Round[/u]
Jay's got the Wild Card with him, so let's see what it does for him. He lands on the R in AMERICA'S. The puzzle is a Phrase:
L _ N _ _ _ E R _ _ E
G, C, D, I, and M give him a good shot:
L _ N G _ _ E R D _ E
He locks onto LONG but he can't lock onto LONG OVERDUE, so he doesn't get the $30,000.

Funny, I don't remember that 2010 clip at all.
I was lost on the first Toss-Up too. Even when the M filled in, I had nothing.
Easy BR was easy, but still lost.

Toss-Ups: I was thinking RUBBER BAND myself on #1. That's the first triple fail I've seen in a long time, and not a particularly good start to the show. Tossup #3 was very predictable, as Proper Name continues to serve the role of Specific Group of People.
R1: I got this with just the T - didn't get a good no-letter look, so I was originally thinking something in the NATIONAL LAMPOON'S family. Not too bad, as Jay makes a perfect round worth $4,900 in cash and gifts (plus the Wild Card), but I can't help thinking the pairs of C's and H's would've been worth some real money too.
R2: Awkward puzzle is awkward... if you want vampires, writers, pick specific ones! Don't make a Fictional Characters puzzle into an a backhanded Movie Title. Tough luck that the Mystery was claimed but lost, though Janet will happily take her $1,950 on the rebound.
R3: With no letters, I had SUNNY TROPICAL BEACH, and I would've raged if that had been correct. As it is, I was able to predict one word out of three, which is still horribly predictable. Jay grabs some nice cash and the St. Thomas trip and extends his lead going into the homestretch.
R4: I have to admit blanking on this one for a bit, though the letter placement made it tough. At least everyone is leaving with more than the Pity Thousand tonight!
Bonus: Jay made a couple of good picks, though they weren't enough. The O would've jailbroken this one, I think, but then again I RSTLNE'd it, so it's hard to analyze it too much.
Overall: Bad writing spoils this one, in my opinion. It's a 6/10, but no higher.

The last time I was that confident the BR would be solved and it wasn't, it was probably MAGIC WAND. I mean, he was a pretty good player.
Also, I missed the Triple Stumper. I am sad. I heard the letters kept revealing slowly however after all three had rang in... isn't that wrong?

TU1: This was a horrible and MEAN themed puzzle. So much possibilities for the second word, and the one that's right makes the puzzle fairly contrived...They should have made it something like "MONSTER MASK" instead. Even I was fooled and had RUBBER BAND at first. R1: Jay probably could have used a bit more money from at least one more spin for C's or H's (though a second one might have put him on Bankrupt)... R2: I can't stand this franchise, but I somehow got this with the T's and E's. -_- BTW, there appears to be a minor edit after Janet called the dud U on FP. My guess: Pat forgot she wasn't penalized and prompted Jay, then realized his mistake. When he says "There is no U", he has a sad tone like normal dud announcements and definitely ends that statement, then is suddenly laughing when he tells her she was on FP. I love Pat laughing at himself for his senior moments. R3: Puzzles like these were all over the place from around S25-27. "BEACH" plus at least two adjectives. BR: Had it with RSTLNE. O would have done it for him. "Starts with a vowel" trap strikes again. Pat's "We saved $1,000! Free pizza for everyone!" joke followed by the Sony jab was one of his best quips yet. Loved how the audience played along with it, too. That made it way more entertaining. The retro BR appears to be from DC College Week. Writing was overall terrible tonight. There were really only three highlights for me: no penalty hits, the WC getting used, and the "Free pizza" bit. Rating: 3/5Average Rating For This Week: 2.8

To be fair, they probably weren't expecting the board to reveal all the letters in RUBBER first. They probably figured that the theme + at least one letter in MASK would be enough. Even so, Kamela might have eventually figured it out if at least one more letter did come up — she looked like she didn't intend to ring in so quickly.

TU1: I thought of RUBBER BAND at first as well. There were lots of possibilities here, and the setup was pretty mean. I probably would've waited a little bit before ringing in if I were Kamela. Also, LOL @ Pat's "Yay, we saved $1,000!" comment. R1: A pretty good round for Jay. R2: Weird puzzle writing is weird. Sorry to see that Kamela couldn't cash in on the $10K, but at least Janet's now on the board! Also, nice use of the FP there. R3: Another nice round for Jay! R4: Well, at least Kamela finally got a puzzle under her belt. And she won't have to settle for the pity thousand! Yay, no Bankrupts tonight! BR: I knew this with RSTLNE. I thought Jay would've gotten it with his choices; sorry to see he didn't. An okay episode overall.

Tossup #1: Ugh, this one also stumped me as well. I was thinking RUBBER DUCK and RUBBER BAND.
R1: Good round, but I definitely would've gone w/ the H's.
R2: What a pity for Kamela to not win the $10K Mystery. And yeah, this puzzle was poorly written. What kind of vampires are you talking about, writers?
R3: So many puzzles w/ BEACH...BORING!!!
Bonus Round: I got it w/ the RSTLNE. I thought this would be enough for Jay, but nope.
EPISODE RATING: 6 out of 10
I'm glad that there weren't any BANKRUPTS or LATs at all in this episode.

I thought the first T-U would be RUBBER BAND. And I also thought the bonus puzzle would be LONG AVERAGE, but the actual solution didn't matter because Jay didn't call the right vowel.
Score: 6

I kept thinking Rubber Band for the $1000 Toss-Up. After I saw all three blow up on it, I couldn't help but think whether or not this would be a bad omen.
As for the Bonus Round puzzle, I got it easily, probably before the D was put up (I can't recall if I got it before it or not). If he guessed an O, he would've had a chance.

What an interesting reveal indeed on the first tossup. That was Kamela's for the taking if she hadn't hit the button.
Otherwise, this was a sort of quiet ending to Halloween Week. Nothing wrong with that. This was a pretty normal episode.
I did think the BR was easy once you talked it out.
I am a little disappointed that "Hitting the Jackpot" was not in Round 1, however.

TU1: I was thinking RUBBER BAND, but then I thought, "Wait, that doesn't fit with the theme." Pat's free pizza comment was great, though. R2: Kamela must not be a Twilight fan. Which is perfectly fine, even if it did cost her $10K. (I'm no fan, either.) BR: I had it with RSTLNE; if Jay needed more than that (which he clearly did), the O was going to be critical.

Some tough puzzles tonight. I never heard of RUBBER MASK, so that one was a toughie. One of the strategies in the toss-up is that if you are last player left after other two are out, wait until the last letter or two left until your you know what it is. And the bonus round was also tough, most people don't usually pick U and V in BR puzzle. But hey, at least Bankrupt and LAT took a break tonight. I don't know what the last time it ever happen. But now gimme that candies, Vanna.

It's all random except for the letter Vanna touches.
