That's right! After almost a year, the compendium has grown on me so much that I can barely maintain it anymore. So now the time has come for me to hire people to help with various maintenance thingys.
Now, I'll still be doing the lion's share of the core work, and that is providing the handy, huge compendium of puzzles for your service. But there are several other jobs that I need now to get fulfilled so I can have my site still be fine, respectable, and above all, reliable.
Here are the list of jobs that need to get fullfilled:
Repeat Checker: This person will check for repeats of puzzles every first-run night and post them here in the repeat thread.
"Gardener": This person will be in charge of making sure the site is in tip-top shape, he will be in charge of managing the front page (including the From the Archive game), and will also make good descriptions for each page.
Puzzle Recorder: While I will still be writing down every puzzle, as usual, in my master copies of the compendium, I can no longer spend the time to dig as much for anything interesting. This person will be in charge of compiling any new puzzle information they find or comes their way, and then sending it to me so I can update.
Category Counter: Probably the most daunting task, fair warning. I tried a while back to make category frequency charts based on Scorpz's Pricing Game frequency charts. Unfortunately, my mental math sucks. Therefore, I'm going to try doing the charts again, but due to this sucky thing called time, I'd like someone else to try and do them. You may come up with ideas to help you better sort the information.
A couple of things:
1. I have to like you. I don't want to work with someone I can't stand.
2. I will also have my own specific expectations for each person, which I will give to them when they receive their positions.
3. Your job does not give you the right to change whatever on the site you please because you like it that way. Remember, it's still MY site. If you have big changes you'd think you'd like to see, you would have to ask me first.
If you are interested in any of these positions, let me know in a PM that you are interested in being a staff member, what role you are applying for, and why you would like to apply for this role, no later than Wednesday, November 28, 2012. I will choose the best entries and then hold interviews with you in the site's public chatroom on Saturday, December 1, 2012.
Good luck! Hope to see lots of interested people!
