Interesting episode... The "Oh, [buzzer], I forgot!" got a chuckle from me.
Good BR playing, too. This is why "talk it out" is good advice.

Kinda boring episode gameplay-wise, but not too bad. Odd amount of swearing however.
What the hell are they doing creating alternate closings for ABC viewers? I was treated to super long credit music tonight after a normal talk. I feel bad for everyone else. Talk about crappy and inconsistent cross-promotion.

Toss-Ups: Surprised not to see an America-themed tossup in the opening pair.
R1: An India trip... now this is an interesting little prize! It certainly stands out from the crowd (see what I did there?) of Caribbean trips, that's for sure. Great to see the fireworks shooting off, though I hope the run of success-themed puzzles ends soon.
R2: When B&A is on the board, a two-letter word is usually ON/OF/OR, but this seems to be pretty much ignored. We get our second perfect round here (albeit for just $1,900), including a MDW lock-in and another car tag pickup - that should make the Trip Round interesting with two players holding a half.
R3: Hugo finally gets to touch the wheel, and Free Play saves his turn - until it's forcibly lost to the wicked whiteness. Kristie gets censored (I was wondering what that *bonk!* was...) but that's after the round is over and done and the Maui trip is securely hers. She's still $3,695 off the lead, but that could change in the homestretch.
R4: Jenna gves herself a tangible boost by winning her second tossup but duds out right away. At $1,500 a letter, there's just not enough consonants here for Kristie to make a comeback (so bye-bye MDW), but at least Hugo gets a bump up to a respectable score - $7,500 isn't bad for third place when he would've otherwise had the False Dignity Thousand!
Bonus: I had a sneaking suspicion that W was in there somewhere, and I was right. Great solve and a nice all-cash total for Jenna!
Overall: Pretty good, though there was a fair bit of untapped potential, like the MDW and car tags. It gets a 7 from me.

That Jackpot win put Jenna Brown over the top. And that Virginian solved the bonus puzzle w/ two seconds left! I knew it w/ RSTLNE.

R1: Congratulations on winning the Jackpot, Jenna! R3: Gotta protect those kids, now! This is a TV-G show, after all. Seriously, while the censoring moment was funny (and more entertaining that they used the buzzer instead of muting it like last time), it just made it seem like Kristie said something way worse (again, the word in question was "crap"). Kids are saying way worse things these days, sadly. I bet no parents would complain if they left it alone. I'm one of those "lip-readers" Pat mentioned. Was that a laugh track after he made that "nobody will know the word except for lip-readers" comment? BR: It looks like you were considering several words and letter combionations that could fit the first or last words, Jenna. Good strategy, and congratulations. I was a bit worried when you switched over to MADE even though you called the D. I had also frowned upon you picking the A, considering it was a given, but the staff was easy on this one. Either way, good job! I think that retro BR was from the same week with the deaf contestant and his interpreter. I can't believe that MDW hit! If there were any sounds in the studio at all when Kristie said "I'm cool, I'm cool", it would have been funny, but since the audience didn't care, it was an awkward flop! Here is the ABC-exclusive closing (along with the buzz moment and BR): www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFeVDRsrsnM (You can hear the darn applause track screamer at 1:37). Bpmod from Jboard has the other version, which I actually found slightly more entertaining. I guess the Tom Bergeron closing from 11/1 was ABC-exclusive, too, since that was a plug for "Dancing With The Stars". There may be a CBS-exclusive closing with Julie Chen from "The Talk" soon. I know she made an on-set appearance. Great BR, but the game itself was pretty boring, no offense to Jenna or anyone. They all played well, but nothing that great came out of it, unfortunately, and Kristie was pretty much a nervous wreck, but thankfully, it didn't affect her game. Rating: 5/10========================== Jenna, if you don't mind, I have a few questions for you... I noticed that during the interviews, the Wheel wasn't set to start on $2500 like it should be, but it was fixed after Jim read about the prize. Did they fix it before the round started, or was it not realized until after gameplay started and there were re-shoots? And did you whisper "Crap" during the Bonus Round as you were coming up with answers (at around :51 in the video linked above)? Closed captioning said you did, though at least my station appeared to censor it, as I don't hear anything, but I do see your mouth move. Others said they heard it (though I don't see why they'd censor that word once and not twice). Congratulations, Jenna! Enjoy your winnings, and we hope you continue to visit and post here often.

Didn't know Jenna was a board member here...
R1: Great round, Jenna!
R2: I understand protecting the MDW, but why not go for the H's?
R3: R's, Kristie...
Bonus Round: Jenna, I don't know why you switched to MADE A after saying the correct first line, but still, great $35K solve! And good thing you picked the right vowel!

MarioGS, I actually already knew what interesting thing happened since it was uploaded to YouTube. The thing was I didn't want to spoil what it was.
It seems to have been a while since Wheel needed to be censored. I remember watching a season 6 episode on GSN where this one contestant said something that was truly needed to be censored while trying to solve a bonus puzzle. If I recall correctly, she was unable to solve it.
I also remember that same season there was a curse word that was used in a Same Name puzzle.
I like it when I'm watching something get bleeped out (which is one reason why I watch a lot of stuff on TruTV), but it's even more fun when it's buzzed out, especially on game shows. I'm pro-censoring by game show buzzerds! ;D

R1: Well played, Jenna! Great job on winning the Jackpot, too! R2: I thought Kristie did okay. I probably would've gone for more, but it's nice to see she has that sparkly green wedge! R3: I see Hugo's a lefty, like me. Sorry to see his turn didn't last long, though. The "Oh, *buzz!*, I forgot!" moment made me laugh, too. This is Wheel of Fortune, Kristie! Anyways, a pretty good round for her. BR: At first I was thinking HAVE A _____. I was afraid you wouldn't be able to get it, but glad to see you pulled through, Jenna! Congratulations! A pretty good episode overall. I'd give this one a 7 out of 10 as well.

Mario: Thanks for noticing I was considering a lot of word combinations. When I guessed "V" as one of the letters in the bonus round, Pat even made a noise as if to say, "Why would you choose that?!" My thought was I needed to rule out "Have" or another word.
I don't know why I switched to "Made" either, knowing the D was already not in the puzzle. I watched myself tonight and couldn't believe what I was thinking. The thing to remember, though, is it's a lot different up there on the stage. To those that guessed it without the RSTLNE, congrats! I've done that a lot at my own home as well. By the time the bonus round rolled around, it was 5 p.m. and I had been at the studio since at least 7:30 a.m. We watched five episodes before ours, and as audience members we heard the people around us guessing the bonus puzzles correctly, so I was standing there thinking, "Come on, Jenna ... you HAVE to guess this. Everyone else in the audience knows it by now!" It's nerve-racking! Clearly, I forgot the D was out of play.
Mario, they must have fixed the wheel before the round started. We didn't stop and restart at all throughout the entire game. The only thing I needed to do twice was tape the ending. First, I taped the ending with the Shark Tank cast, which was AWESOME! They told me to stand next to Mark and Robert, but I walked up and got overwhelmed and said hi and shook all their hands. Luckily, they thought it was cute and weren't upset with me. Then, as I was tying up loose ends backstage, they called me back out to do the alternate ending with Pat and Vanna.
I DID NOT SAY CRAP! I am so upset by this ... I've been waiting for this day to come and then I get dragged down because some TV stations were probably being overly sensitive after Krisite yelled out crap?! My TV station didn't censor anything, and I am not seen or heard saying crap on my station. I was just sounding things out to myself. I taped my taping, so I guess I'm going to have to redeem myself by posting my version online at some point, although not tonight.

Didn't mean to upset you. It's just that some people, including the people who do the closed-captioning, thought you did, but I didn't hear anything, so I wondered if it was just my station or for the "ABC version" (I'm the one who uploaded that video).
Thanks for your input. Sounds like you had an amazing time. ;D

Jenna, congratulations and welcome to the boards! I can certainly identify with you going through a grueling day. My episode airs in about four months, and was also the sixth one taped on my tape day.
Mario mentioned the Julie Chen promo. I was in the studio that day (Nov. 15) and Chen's promo was filmed during the fifth show of the day, meaning it will air March 1. I did not get to see it firsthand, as I was in the green room getting prepped for my taping, but Pat did announce that it would be a CBS-only promo and that a "regular" ending would be shot for non-CBS stations.
As for swearing, I can certainly understand that it takes everything you have not to swear on TV, but there are standards, people! At the very least, it looks like Pat got a good laugh out of it.

I did, thanks. You guys had me worried, though, so I've been playing and replaying it over and over and over again. Unfortunately, the whole day was so surreal, I didn't even remember half of the puzzles from tonight's game let alone what I said! I just don't want to be known as the contestant that says "crap" on TV. Leave it to Kristie :-)

Jenna, another question if you don't mind, though not about this episode...I hate to bring this up here again, but, seeing that you taped the same day as the episode with the "SEVEN SWANS A-SWIMMING" puzzle, was there any kind of hoopla backstage or in the audience or green room about the ruling? The general consensus (after it made headlines) was that it was unfair, but were people at the studios more understanding, especially considering that that kind of thing is emphasized to contestants?

Nice R1 Jackpot win. And a Prize Puzzle Phrase that was not related to traveling at all? (Well, maybe one could argue that a vacation is "exactly what the doctor ordered", but still, that could have easily been used as a non-PP puzzle!) Also, amusing buzzer-censor moment, though I hardly consider "crap" worth censoring anymore... but eh, whatever.
Clearly, I did not gamble enough during my trip to Las Vegas, considering that the BR stumped me. Good job solving that, Jenna!

I'm pretty sure the Round 3 puzzle should've been JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED...but then again, Wheel doing dumb things is like the sky being blue. Oh, and network-exclusive closing segments, because the show needs to waste more time on needless frivolities. Nothing against the plugs themselves (and yet they can't have those celebs playing the game?!), but make it consistent so nobody misses anything. Welcome to the site, Jenna, and congrats! R3: Gotta protect those kids, now! This is a TV-G show, after all. Seriously, while the censoring moment was funny (and more entertaining that they used the buzzer instead of muting it like last time), it just made it seem like Kristie said something way worse (again, the word in question was "crap"). As with last time, I think it was intentionally done by the show to get attention. Because, you know, it really needs that after the hoopla below... seeing that you taped the same day as the episode with the "SEVEN SWANS A-SWIMMING" puzzle... Similarly, Jenna -- given that it was also taped the same day, in fact right after the above incident -- was there any hoopla about the "HICKORY-SMOKE(D) COUNTRY HAM" ruling (the one nearly everybody in the media failed to notice)? By all indications, the contestant left off the D but they still ruled him correct.
