We Wheel fans all know the first syndicated, or PM, episode first aired 9/19/83. Some of the 50 initial cities that King World had cleared this show for broadcast (including in Philadelphia, PA) had the air date of the premiere as either 9/5/83 or 9/12/83.
Being a Portland (OR) citizen, however, the launch date for the syndicated Wheel in my area would've been a few months later, around Christmas of that year. So, may I ask: would anyone here happen to know what the launch date was for the syndicated Wheel in the Pacific Northwest area?
In my area, the syndicated Wheel was first shown on KOIN-TV channel 6, a CBS affiliate, at 7 PM PST, from 1983 to 1988. When the PM Jeopardy! premiered September 10, 1984, its initial time slot in my area was 7:30 PM PST, also through 1988. Since late 1988, the two shows switched their time slots (7 PM for J! and 7:30 PM for Wheel).
In the fall of 1992, both Wheel and the revived Jeopardy! moved to KATU-TV channel 2, an ABC affiliate. The respective time slots for both shows are the same as they had been since the fall of 1988.
