Welcome to the all-new Buy a Vowel Boards!
After hours of downtime filled with some minor glitches, we're finally here, fully upgraded, and debuting a brand-new look! As always when there's a brand-new software package, there may be some issues, and I will try to help out as best as possible.
First, I should explain the new login system, as it's changed. V5 uses what's called a "global login" system, which allows you to tie multiple forum accounts within one login, using your email address and a password. When you initially click "login", you will be prompted to enter either your global account information, if you have one (whether it be from being a beta tester, or if you previously created one), or your existing BAV username/password. If you have a global account, log in to it, select "Link another forum account", enter your BAV username (your login name, not your display name- make sure it's all lowercase) and password, and you're good to go. If you don't have a global account, enter your BAV username and password as before, and create a new global login, which you will use to log in with from now on. If you have any issues logging in, please send me an email at bav.cu2010(at)gmail(dot)com with your BAV username (no passwords, please), and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Once you're on, you're ready to go! Before you can post, however, you must agree to the forum Rules...you will be prompted to do so upon hitting the "Post" button for the first time, so I strongly suggest copying what you typed first. Once you hit the "Agree" button, you won't have to do it again.
I am also pleased to announce that we will once again be doing nightly Wheel of Fortune chats! You'll notice a "chat" button at the top of the screen. When the show airs in your area, you can click on that button, then click on the time your show airs to go to the respective chat for that airing. Please only visit the chat corresponding to your showtime. If you watched earlier, and would like to chat with the later crowd, do not spoil the show. Additionally, the chats are not to be used for videos, games, or anything other than watching Wheel and discussing it. Within the next few days, there will be a new game introduced that will change the way we watch Wheel forever.
The custom avatars have been reuploaded, though a few are missing right now. Guinty needs to reupload them. The new size for avatars is 150px by 150px, so enjoy your larger avatars. This software now has a custom avatar maker, so if you are feeling particularly creative, have fun with it! There are a few other new features...I'll let you play around with them yourselves.
In addition, there has been a minor change to the staff. In an effort to streamline the number of staff groups we have, we have removed the Associate Producer usergroup, and made all regular moderators global staff, meaning Ryan gets a promotion.
