Well, it's been nearly 5 years, with about 3 as me as your current head admin, along with my awesome staff, or at least I think so.
However, what I'm curious is about what you think: How are we doing as admins, running the site, etc.? What are things you like about the site, don't like, would change? Constructive criticism is welcome, ad hominems aren't. We want to do this to make the site even more user-friendly, and improve on anything possible.
As a warning, though, attacks on people, or irrelevancy will not end well for you. So don't do it.
Anything and everything on your mind will be considered among the staff to improve, within reason, and I'd really like to hear it. Keep up your great work posting everyone, and I can't wait to hear what you have to say! I want a lot of good responses to this; remember, you're being given a slice of the site control pie here; why not use it?

I think the moderation team is stupid...especially that director guy. Who told him he could help run a site? (If someone doesn't mention our sense of humour, imma be mad. )

As I've said before, as a co-founder of this message board, I had some early say in the matters that formed this website. In the three years since my retirement from staff, I have enjoyed watching Buy A Vowel (and what was WOFL) blossom into the fantastic community it is today. From the old guard to the new, I give my warmest congratulations to all of you for everything you've done and continue to do here.

I really have nothing to say that hasn't already been said -- I think the admins have done a wonderful job with the site, and I really can't think of any changes I can suggest. My only negative -- and hopefully this isn't an attack or irrelevancy -- is to Jon/Prizes, who had promised to give a point-by-point response to a PM I sent him back in August. Granted, I don't really need such an explanation now, but it's something I was reminded of with the OP. /technically part of the staff //even if Production Assistant is little more than a fancy title

I really like that when someone does something wrong, the mods have their little message on the post where it happened. That way, others can basically know what not to do and why.
I'm glad that at least Prizes and cu have started doing that in their new mod positions on Golden-Road as well.
By the way, I just noticed, do we have a Like Button now?

Yep, that's a new feature. I'm actually going to give a bit of a self-assessment, because sometimes admitting one's own faults is a good thing. I admit, I'm not perfect. Anything but. I've made my own fair share of mistakes, gone way too far in handling things because I let anger get to me, and made sometimes questionable decisions. I've even banned people for utterly ridiculous reasons, sometimes not rectifying it for months. In each of those cases, I truly apologize. At the end of the day, I've always tried to make things right, and learn from said mistakes. This thread was ultimately my idea, inspired by a similar type of thread at another forum I frequent that was started because someone felt it was overmoderated, and sometimes I wonder if we've overmoderated at times. By opening the floor for discussion, I sincerely hope to gain some kind of feedback as to how we're doing as forum staff, and if there's anything we can improve on. I'm a strong believer in open communication. The ability to listen, and allow others to speak their mind, is one of the key skills required to be a leader, and by allowing this thread to happen, I am allowing you guys, the ones we ultimately do this for, to tell us what you think, so that we can lead you guys.
Do not be afraid to speak your minds in this thread, or anywhere, really. Constructive criticism is a good thing. There will never be reprecussions for speaking your mind and offering criticism, so long as it is done respectfully without the need for petty name-calling. If you feel we've crossed a line anywhere, tell us. If you feel we've overmoderated anywhere, tell us. If you think we've made a questionable decision and you'd like to disagree with it, tell us. Give me an example. It can only help us in the future.
It's hard to believe that Monday will begin our fifth year online. That's quite an accomplishment for a site our size, and it wouldn't have been possible without you great people. I thank each and every one of you for making this a pleasure, and I look forward to serving as your administrator well into the future.

My only negative -- and hopefully this isn't an attack or irrelevancy -- is to Jon/Prizes, who had promised to give a point-by-point response to a PM I sent him back in August. Granted, I don't really need such an explanation now, but it's something I was reminded of with the OP. And I owe you that. PM me with any questions you'd further like to know about the August PMs, that was something I had forgotten about. EDIT: Let me follow up on what cu said, for me. I'm far from perfect. I'm glad with the site, and the staffers I've hired (and they've hired). But you see, as much as there are effort jokes, and my tagline, they're kind of true. I honestly could do a fair share more with the site (but those who know me know I do some hidden site decisions that aren't there to the naked eye, to be totally fair). The reason for this really isn't great either; I'm complacent and happy with the site's current state and all the awesome members you all are, that make me happy to run such a place, on a daily basis. It's a flaw- I don't think we need to work on anything (whereas we do, in site numbers, growing members, etc.), but we do. I used to be a lot better at this when the site needed it, like in 2010-11, or GR now, that really cry for help. So, yes, I'll edit your post if it's bad, but darn, you guys make it hard to do that, to really have to mod you, it's like a great symphony. Again, keep it up. I just wish I could have my motivation back here to well, do more, and not be totally happy, just sitting on laurels a lot.

Outside of Jon, I'm the longest tenured staffer on this site, and in the time I've been here (since 2009), I've seen a lot of things happen, a lot good and of course some bad. I, as others have said, am not perfect and I have made my fair share of mistakes--failed HYO game, being too harsh to those who've violated rules, even not following rules. I am glad that Mark had faith in me to make me an admin and that Jon and cu have had the faith in me to keep me on the staff. I wouldn't want to work on any other site but this one. All of us on the staff get along quite well. We all bounce ideas off of each other; if we have a problem, cu and Jon will listen and give quick, nice responses and resolve any issues we have. For any game show forum, or any forum period, we have the best staff ever, hands down. And I will consistently back that up no matter what!

I don't have any problems with the site staff right now. They're nice people, and while they have their failings, I believe how they handle things is fair. The new 20-minute edit timer is fine by me—my oldest active account is on a site where you only get 15, and THAT is after you fork over money to them. (The money is not just so you can edit, but it's frustrating not being able to.)

I don't have any problems with the site staff right now. They're nice people, and while they have their failings [.]You need to expand on this, honestly, Jeffrey, right now we have lots of "Oh, staff is great", which while I appreciate the glowing remarks, that's nothing to really to build on. This could be something we easily can amend, consider, or possibly improve for your experience and that of others.

EVERYBODY has their failings, and I had what you guys admitted to in mind when I wrote that. I had nothing to add to that discussion.
