I thought The Oswalds had ultimately made the right vowel choice on the bonus puzzle because the last word started w/ A, but it looks like they should've called the I instead. I knew the bonus puzzle w/ RSTLNE.

It's too bad better episodes aren't coming right now that are worthy of the effort put into such recaps as these.

Thanks, William.  It was fun to make and not that hard. I had been wanting to try out this style for a while, so I had a lot of stuff pre-made and just worked off of that.

As you all can see, I really love v5's table feature compared to v4's.



R2: Wow, terrible Bankrupt!  That actually beat out one from R3 on 12/03/12 that took away $1,300 and both halves of the Chevy Sonic to take the #2 worst Bankrupt of S30 so far.

R3: Scoreboard operator forgot the house minimum rules.  At least they soon corrected it. If not, Pat would have noted that they were only $100 behind the yellow team after TU3, which would have been really intense.

R4: I heard the dings on the S's, and why did the three leftmost players clap for them? :huh:

BR: I had trouble on the first word. I think this works slightly better under Thing.

*AWWWWWWW*

Not bad tonight. Yellow team worked together well, and it was nice to see the red team redeem themselves after their big loss.

Thanks for the nice recap, Mario...very easy to follow and play along! Also looks like plenty of BAVGO action took place.

Love the new format, Mario! Very easy to read and easy to help me compile my statistics for Season 30 (player-by-player rankings of winnings, including Bonus Round statuses and prize winnings). On to my summary.

Toss-Ups: On 1, I thought it was HANDHOLDING at first...would've blown that one. Pat and Vanna doing the prize plug was pretty cool. Toss Up 3 made it a close one!

R1: A few close calls, but Team 2 played this well, with some audible conferring.

R2: Even Team 2 was happy with the Mystery pick up! Lots of cardboard flying this round (some toward Pat, unfortunately) kept this interesting.

R3: The Prize Puzzle makes up nicely for Team 1 sending the Cardboard to the Bankrupt Trash. Further, it puts a major dent in Team 2's lead. Way to play it!

R4: Nice comeback, as S proved to be the key letter. Too bad Team 3 didn't see much action. Plus, I loved the display of sportsmanship between Teams 1 and 2. It's always more satisfying, in my opinion, when players take time to congratulate each other, even when in the backs of their minds, they wanted to destroy each other.

Bonus: Argh! V would prove to be a key letter here, as I also had FROM ABOVE. They sure love using VIEW in Bonus puzzles, do they? (I wouldn't be surprised if we saw ROOM WITH A VIEW or A VIEW TO A KILL anytime soon as Bonus puzzles)

Overall: Fun, competitive game with a lot of "yell at the screen" moments. Close, suspenseful game, with some smart play. Too bad Team 3 got buried. Also, is it just me, or did both Vanna and Lesly look smokin' hot in those Sandals promos? And, yes, Pat, I wouldn't mind a Lobster BLT (minus the B, of course...I'm a pescetarian). 7/10

They did, but they were pretty low. Maybe they muted that audio track in post and could be heard through the mic feeds.

Regarding the muffled right-letter dings... is Vanna miked throughout the whole show? Just curious.

I know for a fact that Vanna is not miked up at the board, because I remember seeing her lips move as if to say something to the contestants a few times during the taping, and if she was miked up, we probably would've heard her. However, during the closing chats, I'm fairly certain she does wear one, but it's probably hidden somewhere inside her clothing, given the fact that a standard clip-on mike wouldn't work with a one-piece garment, like the gowns that Vanna wears. Mario is right about that "talk into my chest" gag, by the way.

For the record, contestants are told specifically to avoid one-piece garments for that very reason. Further, contestants are encouraged to wear bottoms with a back pocket, because that is where the microphone terminal (about as big and as thin as an iPod) goes. Then, the technicians thread the wire over the back, then around the front of your body to clip the microphone on your collar, shirt, or lapel. Both men and women are encouraged to wear a blazer, jacket, or sweater to hide the wire.
