Yes, this is the same WooWho from over Golden-Road/JBoard way. Figure I'd finally poke my nose around here...partially because I got a second round audition for Wheel on April 3.
Hello friends!

Welcome aboard! Always good to see awesome G-R members join our ranks. Though I'm still mad at you for winning that million bucks on that one show that wasn't supposed to be won.

Are you going to cost even MORE people a million bucks? But, hey, good to have you here! I'd study Guint's S25-27 compedium to do especially well throughout, including the written part. Be sure to clap, be loud, etc.

Hi, Woowho/Joshua. I still remember watching your TPIR episode. That darn Cheez Whiz! If you want any advice about the audition, let us know. I went to one earlier this year, and we have several other members who have experienced it as well. Good luck!

Thanks for all the advice! I've been looking at Mario's audition tests for some of his forum games--is the real test that difficult? I don't feel terribly confident on that part if they're that tough...

Only my most recent audition test is based on the actual one, not the previous point-based ones. No, it's easier than that. I just made it harder because I bet if I had done it like the real thing, there would be too many perfect scorers.

Follow the same advice I give to my students when prepping for the SAT. Listen to the categories when they are described and quickly decide which ones are your strong ones. Knock out any puzzle you can solve straight away and don't dwell on anything you can't get right away. When you're done with the ones you know you can get, look up at the timer to see how much time you have to get the rest. Basically, it all comes down to time management. Work quickly, but carefully. 5 minutes for 16 puzzles is NOT a lot of time. Best wishes!

Thanks for that, good sirs! I'd like to think I'm pretty good at the game--I distinctly remember when Caitlyn Burke had her 1-letter solve, I got the very next puzzle with no letters at all. But then, that was playing from my couch...I remember when I auditioned for "Millionaire" last summer, I got nervous--and my mind turned to mush!

Hi Woowho! I recognize the name, though I'm not around JBoard much these days. The way I prepared was to play the WOF facebook game, and just try to solve the puzzles as soon as I got one or two letters on the board. The test was hard, but manageable. Be sure to prepare a little one minute speech introducing yourself, with one or two of your interests.

And throw in something unexpected or obscure about yourself and/or a bit of humor in your interview, too.

Thanks for the advice! I've been hosting USC's game show for the last four years, so I like to believe that thinking on my feet won't be a problem. Though I've spent so much time on the other side of the hosting desk, I hope I haven't slacked off because of it! When I got picked at the Wheelmobile event, I went with that and the fact that I've studied Shinkendo (classical Japanese swordsmanship) for a year and a half. Between those two things (I won't bring up my past game show experience unless I absolutely have to)...I think I'll be good! The puzzles are another thing entirely, but we'll see how it all works out.
