Heh, I didn't miss much at all while absorbing multiple shows at MSG, although tonight's categories looked pretty strong.
Uh, Euclid... ON THE MAP.
Have they used BUNGALOW in the BR before? That BR could have really used some WC help.

Anyone see me in the audience over the long credit roll? I was in the front row in the blue collared shirt (far right of the frame when it zoomed out all the way).
Euclid, great game! Wish the wheel would've been a bit more kind to you, but $5,550 isn't a bad haul!

Well, hello Mark (euclid), nice of you to join in...
Tossup #1: Good quick solve by Mark.
R1: I thought your last spin of the round would make it out of that BANKRUPT near the pink $900, but it wasn't meant to be.
R2: Pretty good round for Mark, especially getting that MDW.
R3: Oh man, Mark's second BANKRUPT was more painful than that first one. At least Wennie avoided the gooseegg.
R4: Oh Mark, what were you thinking? You should've remembered the category. And once Amanda call the P, I knew your reaction said it all.
Bonus Round: That one I knew w/ the RSTLNE. Mixing up CDMA and BGHO would've helped (BGMA, to be exact).
MY EP. RATING: 5 out of 10

Didn't get to see your show firsthand, Mark, since I was down seeing two shows being taped, but I did record it. Wennie was at my second audition! She went by Gwen there, I believe (or maybe it was Wen and I misheard it). Glad to see she made it! R3: Aww, Mark. It's bye-bye MDW after so soon. (That was the first post-claim MDW Bankrupt in quite a while. Not even sure that happened yet this season.) R4: Should have remembered the category and the letter arrangement, Mark. Anyone see me in the audience over the long credit roll? I was in the front row in the blue collared shirt (far right of the frame when it zoomed out all the way). Found you! Were people itching for the show to be over or something? It was kind of depressing that when Mark hit the MDW, only about 2-3 people in the audience reacted to it, and nobody went "awww" when he hit Bankrupt. Guess I didn't miss much even though I was looking forward to finally seeing your episode, Mark, and a nice surprise to see a familiar face on there as well. Rating: 5/10

I was one of those 2-3 people in the audience who reacted...just for you, Mario. I think that was the first time I had seen it hit in the three shows for which I was there, so naturally we all got excited. My friends were starting a discussion about how Euclid could win the million after he claimed the wedge...and then, what do you know, the Wheel's Black Mamba gets it.
I can, however, hear myself laughing in Pat and Vanna's post-show chat...even over the canned laughter.

When the "score recap" graphic appeared, I misread Wennie's name as "Weenie". Why didn't Pat just say "Okay, ladies, go ahead and give me those ½ Car tags."? The Trip Puzzle feels like something from a brochure. And of course, Wennie wins solely due to the guaranteed prize. I gotta admit, Mark, I was facepalming at you in the Speed-Up. I'm not quite sure if the bonus puzzle was hard -- PBGA(W) is the best solution I can figure.

What makes the BR fairly hard, IMO, is that BUNGALOW is a rather rare word that's hard to come up with, especially for someone like Wennie who is not native to the U.S. (it seems like she heard the word before, but again, not something easy to come up with on the spot).

A few more comments... - The first toss-up category made me laugh. I have a very short attention span and really struggle watching movies. I've seen fewer than 200 in my life, so I was immediately worried about that. A fairly common phrase though, and I really only needed two letters. - Second toss-up. I got stuck with the “ate” sound in my head when I saw the T. So I was thinking “weight” instead of “ite”. Helped that Amanda has kids, I think. - I knew I shouldn't have spun that last time in R1. I literally felt myself grab for the wheel as I pushed it away. The running $ total is the hardest thing to keep track of. It's down and to the left, away from the puzzle board. I guessed I had about $2700, which told me to spin given expected value calculations. The downside to that was that I was pretty consistently spinning 23s or 24s, so I was therefore flirting with disaster. - A kneejerk solve in R2. I knew Mx3 was available, but the wheel scared me, despite the fact I was hitting the fat part comfortably in between the bankrupts. I bided my time with the B (MDW) & Y and then went for the Ls and finished it. My sister's college teammate sang with JM, so I was very aware of his songs. I don’t think either of the other two could’ve solved it without at least two more letters. - The bankrupt to open the round was rough. I’ll have to watch this round again, as there was a curious call I had a question about. - Had Neighborhood quickly. Unfortunately, letters filled in the first word and I was completely focused on the second word. First thought was Neighborhood Picnic. Then the second toss-up came back to haunt me, as I then had the “ite” in my head when I saw the T at the end of the second word. So Neighborhood Blight was the first thing I came up with after the T showed up. Too many things going through my head. Market was one of them. Just couldn’t pull the trigger. - Speed Up. For the on the map category, I had THE AFRICAN CONTINENT before any letters were up there. Then of course some letters eliminated that possibility. Things got blurry, and I tried to make a word out of what was there. Dumb luck had me pull FLORIDA without any letters, which basically fed the answer to Amanda. So it goes. Happy with the result. Some bad luck on the wheel. I didn’t call any bad letters. It was a fun night, with friends and family across the country watching. Also, I was pretty psyched to give the shout out to Davidson College basketball. I’m a big fan, and how timely it is that they’ll play tomorrow in the NCAA tournament. Go Wildcats!

It was a fun night, with friends and family across the country watching. And this, ultimately, is what matters most...it doesn't matter whether you win or lose, or how much. It was your thirty minutes to just forget about life and have a good time, and you did just that. Congratulations! Stay around. ...though, I'm sorry, but THE FLORIDA SUNSHINE still counts as a Nonsense Answer, since it doesn't fit.

I have a question, Euclid. At the tapings I went to, I noticed that any time a player claims cardboard that will remain in subsequent rounds, they take the original piece backstage and put a new one in its place. I assume they did this with your MDW and Amanda's Wild Card. Why do they do this? Is it so that the tape on the originals doesn't stick to the railing or show on camera?

That's great! And it looks like this particular Wheel layout is when we were trying to figure out the Season 30 layout based on leaked pictures and info. Still, at least it's way more accurate than most other Wheel cakes.

I remember them doing something with the cardboards during the breaks, but I was too thirsty to pay too much attention. I'd guess they want to maintain the integrity of the pieces that are on the board- not have them get dog-eared or otherwise damaged. Not having the tape show is probably another concern. That's great! And it looks like this particular Wheel layout is when we were trying to figure out the Season 30 layout based on leaked pictures and info. Still, at least it's way more accurate than most other Wheel cakes. Haha. I knew that someone on here would comment on the layout. I think I snagged the pic off of one of the threads back in November or so. Merged consecutive posts.

Maybe it's because I wasn't paying close enough attention either, but I didn't see them fiddling with the cardboard the players had picked up at all.
