I remember reading on the Wikia that the reasons for $950 never being used in US gameplay are not known, but I thought I'd ask you folks for your opinion. Why do you think $950 and $475 were never used in gameplay on the show?
My guess would probably be that although the round 2 layout from 1974 seemed to be the most ideal layout for $475 to appear, the top dollar value was only $25 more.
Same thing for $950. You might as well be landing on $1000 which is a well-rounded-up value.
What do you guys think, would you agree?

Good reason, but now $1,000 is not on the wheel anymore (expect Mystery wedges), do any of you think Sony should have $950 right now. They bought back $650, so why not any other rare values?

I agree with you, germanname, but I also think $475 is fairly oddball, something more at home on the Australian version or on Press Your Luck.

$950--because it was too close to $1,000. If you're going to use $950, you may as well just use $1,000 instead. People like round numbers.
$475--again for the whole round numbers logic. And the fact that it's so close to the (IMHO) overused $500.

I would much rather see an actual $1,000 wedge make a comeback than $950 make a debut, though I'd be OK with that if anything. Heck, I was expecting $750 to make a comeback before $650.

I don't think anybody expected $650 to come back.
As for $475, Wheel's kept away from -25 and -75 values since the daytime show ended in '91.
I wouldn't mind $950 showing up, actually, if the show's going to avoid using regular four-digit amounts. It'd still look cheap compared to the four-digit values, though.

Well, it's obvious $475 wouldn't have had a chance for the last two-plus decades, although it was supposed to be "used" in the games for the PS3 and 360.
As for it's doubled counterpart, I've read that a lot of people agreed with my rounding-up theory, even though it's on Brazil's Wheel along with the top value of $1000, but if that's the way Brazil does it, that's their way. Even so, it would still be nice if $950 were to make it as a playable value. If $650 were to make a comeback, $750, $850 have a chance to do the same. Furthermore, $950 also has a shot at getting off those old turntables, rugs and intros and onto the real Wheel deal.
Now, I know $750 may have been unadjacent to Bankrupts during the pilots, 1975 perhaps, and when Goen hosted, but I do not recall that to be the case in any nighttime episodes. If $750 comes back, I'm honestly expecting it to make its first nighttime appearance away from Bankrupts outside of set pieces and intro layouts. As for $750's double counterpart, I don't think I'll ever be ready for $1500 to do the same if it were to come back.

$750 would most definitely not be adjacent to Bankrupt if it comes back soon. If it did, it would have to replace the orange $300, pink $900, or $650, or technically blue $300 or $550 if you count the MDW.

I want a $950 wedge on the wheel once.
