...just kidding! It was awesome! Walked away with a once in a lifetime experience and $17,000+ in cash and prizes. If you have questions about how to get an audition and then get selected, please email me or post on this thread. I figured out a great trick to get an audition in your home town without chasing the Bus. It worked for me! I auditioned in Austin in August, got my letter to be in the contestant pool in October. My episode aired in December 2012. It was amazing, but it's very, very, very, very freaking difficult to get on the show. Only 600 people out of 6,000,000 who audition each year actually get on the show. My email is davidbrannonbailey@gmail.com or visit my website www.iwanttobeonwheel.comHere to help increase your odds of obtaining an audition and getting selected for the contestant pool. Thanks, David Bailey davidbrannonbailey@gmail.com

Hi, David! Congratulations! Feel free to post more about your experience in the recap for your show. Thanks for signing up! We have several members who are in the contestant pool right now. How did you get your audition? Through the regular online application or through a Face of the Fan video?

Nice title, haha. I genuinely believed you thought it was awful, since not all game show experiences are good. Silly me. Anyway, always nice to have another show alum, welcome aboard! That guide you've written on getting on the show has me curious, out of personal interest, since I've written a small scale guide of how to deal with the Wheelmobile and get past that round of audition, with a bit on the second round. Brilliant idea, though, make money on Wheel, make more on the book; best of luck with your sales. Makes sense as an investor, no less. Loved your strategy of early and often vowel callings; same as mine. EDIT: If you haven't seen it already, we've got you recapped, this be your thread for all interested: buyavowel.boards.net/thread/5027/march-6-2013-recap#

You know, though, your username isn't all that appropriate. Usually people who want to be on Wheel haven't been yet. Perhaps it should be "iwasonwheel" instead. Welcome aboard! I always enjoy reading real-life experiences from actual contestants. Hope to see you around!

Good Morning All-- Just a quick reply to a few of the questions posted and a fun interaction with Pat... Mario, I actually didn't get my audition in the traditional manner. I went got an invitation only audition in my home town of Austin. No Wheelmobile chasing, no waiting in long lines. The WOF producers do this often and in many locations around the country. It is a simple trick, but SO cool...instead of being 1 of thousands, you'll be 1 of 70 that get in front of the producers who select talent. Trip, I didn't go through the Wheelmobile, but if you have any interest, we should collaborate on www.iwanttobeonwheel.com Your insight would be fantastic! Evil Genius, you're right. I should have gone with that name. Where were you when I bought the domain? Joking. I'm stuck with it now. Lastly, I just wanted to say that anyone wishing to appear on the show should set out to just have a fun, once in a lifetime experience. I still believe I'm the only contestant to SMACK PAT ON THE BUTT!!! After I won the prize puzzle I gave him a fun love smack...He was a great sport about it.

If you want David, we can change your username for you to whatever else you might prefer.
I actually went to a final audition after going o a Wheelmobile event. I made it all the way to the end but never got the letter. I always wondered what I did wrong...

Mario, you sound like you have given up on the dream. Don't do that man. I have a ton of tips I can share if you want to give it another try. Just remember, there are only 600 of 6 million each year selected to be on the show. Pure odds make it difficult and the producers turn down tons of great people. They are looking to put out a good "product" on air so being a great puzzle solver is only part of the whole contestant they are looking for...Enjoy the rest of your weekend! David

Oh, I haven't given up. I've heard of several people who have auditioned for years. I'm going to keep trying.

I still believe I'm the only contestant to SMACK PAT ON THE BUTT!!! After I won the prize puzzle I gave him a fun love smack...He was a great sport about it. Actually, a contestant did so during an Armed Forces Week in 2003 after solving a Toss-Up. Pat, being Pat, did the same back to said player.

Congrats and nice to meet you. My wife Robyn auditioned the same way but the auditions were in brooklyn for her. Her show aired on 3/28. She had nothing but awesome things to say about Pat and he seemed to really get a kick out of her. I had seen 3 prior episodes that day and his interactions were minimal but he was very cool to her. The producers said their face to face hug made it seem like they knew each other for years. ha ha. Always great to hear other people's experiences. Fixed maligned quote.
