csb, I'm wondering the same thing (and hoping the latter) because I wasn't asked to stay after the written test, but I think I gave a decent showing at the wheel mobile personality wise. I did see someone (idk if it was a local TV guy or the one operating the used letter board) pointing and commenting on me. They were definitely organizing the slips in some drawers somehow during the auditions. I just hope they put some kind of 'check' for my personality and they didn't need to see me after the written test and it's enough to get the letter. Also wondering this because there was a place on the app asking if you submitted a video or attended a wheel mobile event. The CCs were also out nearly an hour! (They said 20-30 mins at first) and they did call names of people they had to tell to "smile" etc.
(p.s. waiting for this letter or no letter is KILLING ME hahaha). Best of luck!

Thanks, Kevin. I have never heard anyone mention anything about organizing the slips, so that's interesting. I am going to go in with the mindset that I will just try to have as much fun as I can. After that, whatever happens, happens. I do wish the odds were better though. The threads on this board have been really helpful!
I hope you get the letter! Be sure to let us know. At least the waiting period isn't too terribly long (although it probably seem like it). I will undoubtedly be a wreck waiting, but after trying to get on the show for over 30 years, what's another couple of weeks, right?

Haha right! And from what I've read (from this original post in this thread also), the "final cut" interview is more like a 'pat chat' (not so much follow up questions like Marty did) so be prepared what you're going to say should you get to that point. Just like they do at the beginning of the show.

Well, I think I know the answer to my question now. I received the letter today (exactly 2 weeks after the final audition...I naturally flipped out)! As mentioned, I did not make the final cut after the puzzle test, so I'm guessing there were some kind of notes from the wheelmobile to make sure I could string together some sentences. Clapping and smiling the whole time. High-fiving those around me who solved puzzles. Reacting to Bankrupts and 5,000s. Sitting in the front row (get there early). Continue playing even when I knew the puzzle on my turn. Getting 12 (??) puzzles correct on the test. These are all things that I believe helped during the final audition. Good luck to anyone auditioning. Timeline: 6/6 - Wheelmobile event in Forsyth, IL 6/16 - Received email invitation for final audition 6/25 - Final audition in Sprignfield, IL 7/9 - Received letter saying I will be a contestant  - Wheel of Fortune Taping/Airing |

I'm really hoping they don't put me on college week (don't want to play against people my age and I'm taking waaaaayyyy longer than I thought to finish my undergrad degree), is there a way I can request out of that? I realize that if they were considering me for that, it could increase my wait though. |

Actually 9 months to be more proper.  It will fade from the front of your mind with time, but from my experience, it was always on the back of my mind since friends and family who know you received the letter will be asking if you got called to tape yet. Not going to comment on asking to opt out of consideration for a specific week as the only time I called them was to correct the misspelling in my name for my files when I received the letter and the label had my name spelled wrong. |

Nine months? It's a lot of time. At least in my case, in my first appearence in La Ruleta, they called me a Monday and they told me to tape the Tuesday of the following week (only eight days). Anyway, congratulations, Kevin! Keep us informed about your taping  |

I am beyond ecstatic... I just received my letter today!! 16 days after the audition. I cried at my mailbox - LOL! I have a friend that also auditioned in Springfield and he said he got a letter then a call 7 days after the audition... and he's already taping THIS Thursday for teachers week. I hope I am on the Pet Lovers show, as I am OBSESSED with my dog. Although I will love whichever show they pick out for me... I'm just SO shocked and over the moon that I am going to be a part of Wheel of Fortune history. SO SURREAL!!!! See you at the bonus round, baby!!! |

At least ten96lt only had to wait NINE months...I had to wait TEN. For those of you who have the letter but no tape date yet: don't feel the need to prepare obsessively for the show. Know that there are many things that are simply out of your control, and just have a good time. For those who are waiting for the letter with bated breath: it's entirely possible mailing could have been slightly delayed due to the holiday. I might be making that up, but give it another day or so. I know my letter came slightly after the 2-week period they quoted me (or at least on Day 14). EDIT: Yay, mellissa! The new season hasn't even started and we've already got two boardies who will be on the show sometime soon. How exciting! |

I've had a lifetime of preparation to be on this show! I think just being on the show means more to me than any amount of money I could possibly win... I've been watching for longer than I can remember! I will soak up every minute of the 22 minutes I am behind the wheel! I must say - I have read these posts over and over since my Wheel-Mobile audition... they were VITAL to help me prepare. So happy I found this forum... hopefully one day I will be able to forward some advice to a newbie wheel spinner, too! |
