I saw the unveiling of the PS4 live (recording it on my 3DS), and know that one of the main themes of the PS4 is the gaming experience the console has to offer. Knowing that Sony Pictures has the right to the show, what might Sony offer if they were involved in making a Wheel of Fortune game for the PS4? What features could the game offer to make a Wheel Watcher's experience on the PS4 worthwhile? Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions? Even ones that seem or could even be far-fetched? I'm all ears.

I don't follow the PS4, so I wouldn't know. I have several Wii U ideas, though.
The better question is, what could the next WOF game offer as a whole, because the 2012 version was somewhat of a letdown overall, especially if you're a Nintendo fan...

Watch them be lazy and pack all the past video games in one package. WOF Decades. I'm surprised they haven't done that yet. Definitely not saying it would be a good idea though

I'd like a Wheel compilation like that. It'd get GameTek, THQ, and especially Sharedata back into the public eye for a little bit.

If Nordic Games does plan on releasing Wheel Of Fortune for the new systems like the Playstation 4 & XBOX 1, then I suggest they use the season 30 layout for the wheel, add some more settings like Chicago, Portland, Boston, & a few other themes. I also think it would be nice to have sets during the 30(soon to be 31) seasons, mainly the premiere, 80's, 90's, & 2000's. I also think they should have a Tournament version like the PS2 & all of the older versions of Wheel that included Tournament games, as well as buying multiple prizes instead of 1 after winning a game. Also, they better stop copying the Wii version of Wheel by removing the FREE PLAY wedge in round 4. I know the Nintendo DS kept that wedge, despite the fact that the Speed-Up Round always happens after the category has been revealed. That goes the same for PRIZE wedges & the prizes being awarded in the PRIZE PUZZLE Rounds. I also think it would be nice to include some clips during the show's run, including the 2 $1,000,000 wins. My final suggestion is to have exclusive interviews of Pat, Vanna, Jim, & everyone else who works for the show, just like the 2nd Edition for the PC version of Wheel back then.

Definitely not saying it would be a good idea though There's already a "WOF Decades" in the form of the 30th Anniversary mobile game. Anyway, How bout Playstation Move functionality, similar to the Wii?

I wonder if there could be something with the sharing functionality to create a real "Host Your Own" situation - one person draws up the puzzle and three people take over on their turns to play the game.

^ That's actually very similar to a Wii U idea I had in mind even before that version was officially announced.
It's a 4-player mode with a strict 4-round game (no Toss-Ups, no Speed-Up, which player is P1-4 is decided at random). Each round, one player takes the GamePad and makes up a puzzle and category for the other three to solve during that round. The "host" receives money depending on what happens during the round: $100 for each elapsed turn, $250 for each vowel purchase, and any money or prizes lost to Bankrupt, also earning the Wild Card or MDW if that gets lost to one (so they can actually bounce around between players). Of course, the solver of the puzzle will claim money as well. Once the round is over, a new player is given the GamePad and acts as the "host" (example: in R1, P1 is the host, P2/P3/P4 are the players; in R2, P2 is the host, P1/P3/P4 are the players, etc). The winner after 4 rounds plays a Bonus Round as normal (not entered by a player).
The GamePad would add an element of secrecy and confidentiality to the player who makes the puzzles. Sadly, thinking about this also makes one realize all the potential for its use in Jeopardy! that Pipeworks was just too lazy to think about. Final Jeopardy! wagering and answering would have been easy, not to mention the seemingly-given feature of signing your name was nowhere to be found (even though you could do it with the Wii Remote cursor in the 2010 Wii version!)...

I don't see very many problems with the PS3 version, though the value of the prize wedges could have been toned down.
If Nordic Games is going to do a decades-style game, the sticking point for me is correct layouts for the period being depicted. I have some nostalgia for early-mid 90s Wheel episodes, and I would love to be able to play something of that era. Failing that, a cool idea would be to have an official version of the game with customizable layouts for each round.
May I point out, too, that we haven't had an official PC release of Wheel for a few years now.

Yep, it's been a while. The 2010 Platinum edition probably could've been the same as WOF2 from 2007 with the exception of the puzzles offered. Could it have still had the Free Spin, $10,000 wedge, and a Jackpot wedge that can be landed on only once?
Now if Sony were to make an update to their 2009 game to be released on the PS4, they've got a lot of work besides putting $650 and Free Play on the Wheel. Apart from the Wild Card, I just put on the Wikia how easy it is to win the $1,000,000 in the bonus round (every envelope has the Million; every envelope has $100,000 when the wedge is picked up yet not brought to the bonus round).
I also noticed it can be possible to be a multi-millionaire when the conditions are right. How? Whenever your letter choices complete the puzzle before you're asked to solve, for every letter yet to be revealed (they're revealed in the order you chose them), your bonus round prize is multiplied. Consider Sony lucky that all this isn't real money.

Sorry, I have to disagree here. I have taken the MDW to the bonus round more than once and haven't won the million. Once, I won $100,000!

Was this on the 2012 version from THQ? I was talking about the one Sony released back in March 2009.

Really?! Hmm, they must've fixed that issue since I downloaded it. The thing is I downloaded it within hours of them releasing it too. When did you download it?

Do PS3 game updates have to be downloaded manually? On Wii U, they download the first time you start up a game after any update data is released.

The PS3 does the same thing, but there's no option to start the game and install the update next time.

germanname, I downloaded the game in November 2009, I think.
I bought the 2nd Wheel PS3 game the day after it was released. After the first updates were released, it popped up when I wanted to play and I had to download it then. I had to download updates as soon as I bought the Jeopardy! game in May.

I don't think I've ever downloaded any updates for the game, but for you to have downloaded the game months later tells me something. Sony must've fixed the easy Millionaire issue. Now, with that said, the all-important question about the Wild Card. After you downloaded the game, were you able to use it after choosing a correct consonant, or was the only time you could use it was still after choosing a correct vowel?
