Is there any way someone could create a list of Shopping Era prizes used on Wheel of Fortune during the 70s and 80s, daytime and nighttime combined, and grouped into certain shopping themes (i.e. Lovers' Retreat, Travel Extravaganza, etc.), though trips can be listed separately?
I can get a head start on such compilation:
Cars:
1984 Ford Thunderbird ($12,877 in 2/84)
Jewelry:
Pearl Ear Clips ($1,600 in 2/84)
Feature Prizes:
Mini Stereo ($800 in 2/84)
Travel Extravaganza:
Record-A-Call Telephone Answering Machine ($140 in 2/84)
Ray-Ban Leather Sunglasses ($205 in 2/84)
Pinseeker Golf Clubs ($1,021 in 2/84)
Trips:
Palm Springs Weekend ($906 in 2/84)
Trip to Hawaii
Trip to the Bahamas
Trip to Puerto Vallarta
Trip to Squaw Valley
Trip to Las Vegas
Trip to St. Petersburg, Florida (I think it was featured in daytime in the mid-80s, as I remember Alex Trebek subbing for Pat Sajak on one of those episodes, I think?)
Trip to Cape Cod
Trip to Boston
Trip to Paris
Trip to Jamaica
Trip to Guam (offered in daytime, I am pretty certain)
San Diego Weekend ($620 in 2/84)
Trip to Bal Harbour, Florida ($4,530 in 2/84)
Spa:
Patio Furniture ($860 in 2/84)
Hot Tub ($3,650 in 2/84)
Earthenware ($317 in 2/84)
Set of Towels ($106)
Heart Box ($45)
Lover's Retreat:
Bassett Bedroom Furniture ($1,699 in 2/84)
Dakotah Queen Bed Spread ($491 in 2/84)
Spring Crest Drapery Certificate ($375 in 2/84)
Quasar 10-inch Color TV ($320 in 2/84)
Michael C. Fina Westminster Time Clock ($425 in 2/84)
Ladies' Boots ($390 in 2/84)
Harris-Marcus Lamps ($220 in 2/84)
Shawl ($150 in 2/84)
Hamilton Man's Gold Watch ($490 in 2/84)
Oneida Silver Beverage Pitcher ($113 in 2/84)
Any others that can be added to the list, feel free to contribute.
I noticed on 2/14/1984 that the winner of Round 3 purchased virtually all of the prizes in the Lovers' Retreat except for the trip to Bal Harbour. Guess she may not have realized that Bal Harbour was actually in Florida.
