I wonder if the music package was overhauled. The 2006 theme and that opening theme they've using since 2007 need to go. How often have themes been changed, now that you bring this up?

There have been only two themes since 1983, but the arrangement of those themes has changed twice.

^Not trying to get off-topic, but there's been more than 2 arrangements of those themes. Changing Keys had 5 different arrangements: 1983, 1989, 1992,1994, & 1997. '83 & '89 had variants of their own as well. "Happy Wheels" debuted in 2000, with its being rearranged in 2006 and is still in use today. And, that's all for Wheel of Fortune Theme history today. Study up! There will be a test...

The 2006 version of Happy Wheels was only used to open and close the show for one year, before being relegated to the end credits only. Might want to study those books a little bit harder there, Dylan.

Oh I know that. I was just talking about themes in general. I don't necessarily consider openings the same as themes.

I would rather they reinstate the 1983 and 1989 themes as the openings and closings.

It's not worth having just a one-word post and then another post immediately afterwards, neh? -W
Josh, you might wanna pick another color. That one's hard to read.

While talking about music cues is a fun thing to do, it is a little off-topic for the info thread. Thus, being moved.

My favorite is the 1989?-1994? opening theme. Time for another lesson! The first major arrangement change for Changing Keys came in 1989. It was used from then until 1992 when it was reorchastesred again. That version was used until 1994; then that version was used until 1997. You're most likely referring to the 1989-1992 version. Man, maybe I chose the wrong major in college...

You mean that screechy, guitary, piano-y, instrumenty, voice thingy, sometimes without voices?
Sure! Depends on the genre.

Do any of you wish TV Theme Music History was a course to study in college?

Heck yeah! It would have been a lot better than "Critical Reading, Writing and Thinking," with the instructor I had who thought her opinion was the Ultimate, High on the Mount opinion and everyone else's was wrong.
But besides that, TV theme music history is always interesting in its changes. Knowing why those changes happened, what the reason was for them (besides freshening a theme), and what the process is would make for a class I could easily get into.

Do any of you wish TV Theme Music History was a course to study in college? Agreed! Whatever happened to real, original theme song intros, like Gilligan's Island or Friends? Now, today's crap is some 5 second sting made in SonicFire.

Yes, I do. I am a musician on the side. I just know this Wheel history stuff because I'm a Wheel history buff.
