Why did the staff stop using the graphic showing the back side of the Mystery Wedge, when either is landed on in the current season? I guess to stop spoiling the $10,000 Mystery location (unless the Mystery Wedge is flipped)?

Maybe because they wanted it to be more suspenseful if they choose to flip it? I know some people did not like the effect and would turn away from the TV.
I don't mind if they stop doing it for flips as long as they still do it for declines.

I remember this happened early on last season, too. I'm sure they're still gonna show the Mystery's back side this season.
My guess is that it's hard to show the back if the contestant flips it over right away.

Yeah, but on last night's show, they focused on the wedge for three whole seconds before Patrice decided to flip it. They did flash the reverse on the 18th since it was declined, so the effect must be for declines only now. ...Though I guess by not doing it on flips, it spoils whether the contestant will do it or not.  |
