Found this on Youtube. OSU's marching band did a "Are you Smarter than a Wolverine" to poke fun at Michigan on September 7th which inculded a montage of game show themes including Wheel of Fortune. They did Happy Wheels instead of Changing Keys. The WoF segment is from 4:35-6:20.

...maybe it's because it's the theme currently used on the show and that the average viewer remembers?
Seriously, Changing Keys hasn't been used since, what, 2000? Most of the people in that band probably don't even realize there was another theme.

Honestly, I don't think it sounds that bad using HW. While I was expecting CK as well, the performance as a whole was well done.
