Welcome! It's time to kick off Christmas with a Wheel of Fortune Christmas Recap! This is the first of five, and I thought I'd start off with Wheel of Fortune's newest host, Bob Goen! This is from Christmas Day 1990. Four More Christmas recaps will be coming your way per this shcedule:

Todd Panner – One day champ with $4,650 dollars, all cash. A bartender from San Francisco. Does lots of golfing and skiing in his spare time.
Tom Brush – From Highland, New York. A paramedic. In his spare time he is an assistant captain for a volunteer ambulance Service.
Philip Leesa – From Avenel, New Jersey. Works for a motel business that's been in his family for 30 years, and is also working on a anthology book about the James Bond films.

And Bob tells us that this is the first puzzle of Christmas 1990. The puzzleboard is adorned with a silver spiky christmas ornament at the top of it.
Todd won the draw backstage, and he'll get the first spin.
SPIN 1- And the first spin is going to be $125 dollars. Todd calls a T. Two T's. $250 dollars.
SPIN 2- Todd spins and lands on $100. He'll call an H, and predictably, there is one H. $350 dollars. Todd buys an E, and he gets two of those. That deducts $100 dollars off his score leaving him with $250 dollars. He continues with vowels, and buys an O. Even better, there are three O's! Todd is down to just $150 dollars.
SPIN 3- This time Todd lands on $200 dollars. He calls an S, but instead of getting a present, he'll get a lump of coal instead. There is no S. Tom gets his first spin of the day.
SPIN 4- Tom's flipper lands on $100 dollars. He calls an M. But there's none. Over to Philip
SPIN 5- Philip spins and lands on $125 dollars. He calls a P. There is a P. $125 dollars.
SPIN 6- Philip lands on that Free Spin. He'll need to call a letter first to pick it up though. He calls a C, but the Free Spin disc will stay on the wheel, perhaps to be picked up later. We're back to Todd.
SPIN 7- Todd will land on a good one (For Goen's wheel), $300 dollars. He calls an R. There are two of those. $600 more for a total of $750 dollars. Todd buys an I. One I, and the price of that is $100 dollars leaving him with $650 dollars.
SPIN 8- It's going to be $100 this time. Todd calls a D. And we'll find one, two, three D's. $950 dollars now.
