The NBA Christmas Day game between Miami Heat and the LA Lakers is scheduled for 5-8 PM ET on ABC, which means Wheel will be pre-empted on all Eastern and Central affiliates that air it (unless by some miracle the game runs super short and 7:30 airings of Wheel are joined in progress). Some Mountain affiliates could be affected as well if the game runs past 8.
Ah, well. There goes another chance of me being able to actually have Wheel on the big TV during a family gathering, though we usually have the "A Christmas Story" TBS marathon on instead. Maybe New Year's will work out...

New Year's better work out! I will be able to check my local station's schedule tomorrow and see. They only post 2 weeks at a time. Hopefully it's scheduled to run at its usual time and there are no breaking news stories.

Oh, I'm sure it will be fine. When I said I hope it "works out", I meant that hopefully I'll be able to have Wheel on the TV while my family and friends are over on New Year's Eve since I almost never get to watch the show with others anymore. The only time people don't mind when I have Wheel on the big TV in the house is on big holidays when we have lots of people over, and of course, the timing has to work out (as in, the TV has to be free at 7:30, and it has to be a weekday with a first-run episode. I don't bother on Fourth of July given that it's always a rerun)...I wonder if I should tell everyone on New Year's that I know the yellow contestant.  |

Game ended at around 7:47, which would have been early enough to catch at least the Speed-Up and BR on 7:30 airings, but the remaining time until 8 is being used by a post-game show.
