From the Ohio State Fair in Columbus, it's America's game! Welcome to Family Week!
...Pat Sajak comes out alone. Vanna drives on the stage in a Hummer, which is the week's Friday Finals prize! Just solve the bonus puzzle on Friday!
The team that wins the main game on Friday will win a trip for ten to Hawaii, regardless of Bonus Round outcome.
The Wheel's base has been redesigned. It is now blue with four gold spikes poking out. But let's get to the contestants.
Today's teams:
Art & Jack (brothers): Art is a union member and ground operations employee, and Jack is a computer consultant.
Juliette & Juliette (mother/daughter): Mom is a union member, and received her masters in education; daughter is a sales merchandiser for a hair care company.
Kari & Vicki (sisters): Kari is a union member, and Vicki is a proud mother who also enjoys sports activities.
The top-dollar value on the Wheel is $1,000. Have the teams decided who will spin first?
Perfection! Art & Jack solve SENATOR JOHN GLENN.
Our first Wheel prize of the season! It's a trip to Las Vegas (labeled VEGAS) worth $10,940!
Like others, Ohio will love the $2,500 and $10,000 prizes (though the latter is the more difficult one).
Somehow, the Juliettes got shortchanged by $100, but it was fixed before they Bankrupted. They also looked at the wrong arrow a few times.
Kari & Vicki solve ROBINSON CRUSOE BY DANIEL DEFOE.
Can you believe we only completed two rounds and we're almost out of time already? Pat gives the Wheel a Final Spin, and we play for...$600 a piece.
That Final Spin looked weird with the $3,500 space on it.
Kari & Vicki: T (x2) ($1,200)
Art & Jack: S (DUD!)
Juliette & Juliette: L (x2) ($1,200)
Kari & Vicki: N (x2) ($2,400)
Art & Jack: R (x2) ($1,200)
Juliette & Juliette: I ($1,200)
Kari & Vicki: E (x3) ($2,400)
Kari & Vicki solve AN EQUAL-OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
$5,000 was not even used tonight!
With only three rounds, it was bound to happen. The Juliettes unfortunately happened to be the team, so they go home with some nice parting gifts.
BONUS ROUND:
At the front of the line, we have plenty of bonus prizes available, and the $25,000 too!
The brothers pick the W. They get this puzzle to get us started:
RSTLNE gives them...
The brothers rely on MCGA:
There were too many possibilities here. They do not solve WAFER...
...so we can't begin with an Explorer win, and they finish with $4,750. But with only three rounds a game, they could make the Finals!
Afterwards, Pat and Vanna bring in AFL-CIO's John Sweeney.
