From the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh, it's America's game! Welcome to Family Week!
Today's teams:
Rod & Judy (stepson/stepmother): Rod is an organizer for the IAM, single parent; Judy is a member of the CWA.
Sarv & Manjit (brothers): Sarv is married, and a member of the APWU; Manjit is married, and a member of the ABO.
Tony & Janet (brother/sister): Tony is married, and a member of ATU Local 85; Janet is married, and a marketing director for an office retail complex.
Starting this season, there are no more Friday Finals (with only one exception), so everybody plays only once. Additionally, some of the $250 spaces have increased, while SURPRISE has been retired.
This time, the team with the highest total at the end of the week wins a family reunion for ten in Hawaii plus $30,000 in spendable credit!
The top-dollar value on the Wheel is $1,000, and it's up to you if no more Friday Finals makes this more or less valuable. Round 1 should be valuable regardless:
Tony & Janet's repeated S was not acknowledged as a duplication.
Rod & Judy solve IT TOOK MY BREATH AWAY.
Try not to fight over this valuable prize: We add a trip fo Florida courtesy of All-Union Travel (labeled FLORIDA) worth $9,136.
Uniting to make sure money is won are the $2,500 and one-third $10,000 spaces!
Rod & Judy solve LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE.
No more secrets, as our second prize awaits. It's a Lenox China & Crystal package (labeled LENOX) worth $4,055.
Shift change! It's time for $3,500 and Jackpot to do some work!
Perfection! Tony & Janet solves SOLID GOLD CHAIN OF EVENTS. And we just cut off.
(Yet again, $5,000 is not used! What's the big idea?!)
It's the drawback of the three-round game again. Sarv & Manjit must settle with some lovely parting gifts.
BONUS ROUND:
Surely we can do better than last season's Family Week. Anyhow, these are the prizes:
Mercury Mountaineer (over $31,000)
17' Boston Whaler Outrage (over $21,000)
Chevrolet Corvette (over $38,000)
Dodge Ram pick-up (over $30,000)
"The cash" ($25,000)
Maybe Tony & Janet are as co-operative at selecting an envelope? They will take the second E. This is the premiere finale:
RSTLNE gives them...
Their choices of DAMB...
...damn. They didn't work.
Despite this, they manage to solve FLIGHT CREW before the timer even starts...
...and get a well-deserved $25,000 extra! They finish with a grand total of $38,005!
During the post-game, Pat and Vanna have Linda Chavez-Thompson, executive vice president of the AFL-CIO, on the stage.
