I think this is how this new section is supposed to be used. Someone smack me if it isn't. Anyway, with my airdate coming up, I decided to get a little creative with some of my reminders. I sent these out to some of my friends in advance of my airdate. MarioGS was kind enough to make the graphic on the inside, which looks like this: The blue borders are 3/8" thick. A closed envelope is roughly 5.25" x 2.75"...it may vary slightly from envelope to envelope because I was hand-cutting each bit, and I was never that proficient with scissors.

Great job. All we need is "WHEEL" podium or a bonus wheel.

Do you like my bookmark? There *is* a full-size gold back--I just haven't gotten around to putting the numbers on yet.

Odd question: Did you make a habit out of grabbing only the gold part of the bookmark and trying not to touch the Bankrupts on the outside?

...now why would I do a thing like that? I'm not that superstitious! Besides, I've already spun the real wheel, it's not like I have to worry about hitting Bankrupts anymore.

Now that is a great idea for a bookmark. Why didn't I think of that? Oh, wait, that's right. Because I'm a team member, and you guys are a team!

That book from which I took the picture, by the way, is called "Princess Geek," and was written by one of my camp counselors, Lance Smith--he mentions he was on Wheel and "scored some cash there," but does not mention the year. (EDIT: He "thinks" he was on early 2001.)
He says he was also on Beat the Geeks, beating the movie geek in the final round (again, no year mentioned).

No discussion of my homemade Wheel props can go without mentioning this, arguably the crown jewel of them all. Constructed June 1999, so this was well before Mystery, the Prize Puzzle, the Wild Card, the Million Dollar Wedge, Free Play, 1/2 Car, and Express. I wasn't thinking when I put the "Waverunner" space on there--I wasn't aware of the fact that my grandfather was going to make add-ons later on. These days, if I use this wheel while playing one of the home games, I treat the space as a Free Vowel (not the same as Free Play!), or an immediately-activated Double Play on the next turn--with the only condition being the player has to spin the wheel in the opposite direction. (Yes, that's a permanent $10K space. And all the top dollar values on the same wheel.) The add-ons: Free Spin, Jackpot, Surprise, and 8 other prize wedges. Six of them were Germany, South Korea, Mountain Bicycle, Sports (a sports package), Diamonds, and Bracelet. Can't remember what the other two were.

Oh, so you're the one who owned this. Yeah, I saw it on Flickr, and I take it you still have it.
Now if you could replace the Waverunner with any dollar value, what would it be? Because I'm thinking about making a custom layout for you - that is if you'd like one.

$700, if I had my way. And that'd be lovely! I'd love to see it.

For those of you who have had experience making handmade wheel props--I want to print the numbers for the back of the $10,000 space bookmark I posted above onto transparency film. Would it make a huge difference if I printed the color background onto the film and stuck that onto the wedge? I'm thinking of printing MarioGS's full $10K wedge but am not sure how that will affect the color once I stick the clear film onto the glitter surface. ...am I making sense here? I hope I am.

Love the bonus round cards!!!! And great choice for the bookmark--personally, the $10,000 wedge is my favorite retired piece!
