Figured I start a thread pertaining to Portugese Wheel for two reasons. One, for more than five years I've been wanting to know the Wheel layout used in the intro of the elder iteration of this version. Two, the host, Herman José himself, has started to upload episodes from the more recent adaption under the name Mr. Hermaniaco.

I always loved watching this version of the show. It's definitely up there for me in international versions

Couple things. First, I read about Ruth Rita's October 15th passing. She certainly played a big part of making Wheel a big success in Portugal. May God Bless Her. Second, I just came across a site that discussed the show's rules and discussed each of the four special spaces. Bancarrota and Perde A Vez are the same as Bankrupt and Lose A Turn respectively. Free Spin is known as Roda Livre. From what I'm reading, you can only use it whenever you guess an incorrect letter or land on Lose A Turn but very likely not when you land on Bankrupt. The reason for this involves the Diabrete (Devil) wedge, which acts similarly to Free Spin only that it's likely used solely for when Bankrupt is landed on. If I'm correct, this helps protect your turn and your round earnings from the next Bankrupt you land on. Early in the show's run, the Diabrete wedge had a photo of Frigi cooking oil as Frigi was a sponsor of the show. I was always wondering what the Diabrete space was for ever since hearing about this version back in the fall of 2008, and thanks to this site, I now have a general understanding of it. brincabrincando.com/a-roda-da-sorte/#1565507331612-5e019bbb-cc0b
