Yeah, most of the outlets that don't say that he lost the million simply say "chance at" a million, which is still somewhat misleading, but accurate nonetheless.
I can't believe people think winning the million is that easy. I mean, think about it. If you could win a million in a regular maingame round, what's the point of even playing the rest of the game? Might as well end the show right there.

Like I said on Twitter...it's just like "Showcase Showdown" on TPIR. It'll continue to be one of those things that everyone keeps getting wrong, and frankly, they're going to keep getting it wrong no matter what we say.

^ Yes, but every episode of TPiR has a Showcase Showdown and a Showcase final, which has been the case since late 1975. The chances of solving with the MDW are exactly the same as they were for the original $10,000 wedge, so it's not going to be absorbed as easily. Further, it seems like Sony often acknowledges the MDW as being just there, gathering dust, except when someone takes it to the Bonus Round.

Technically, the odds solving with the MDW differ compared to the $10K because since Season 14, the $10K was exclusive to just one round, but the MDW is available for the first three (though some initial reports of its addition to the show claimed it was only on the Wheel in R1 like the $10K and Australia's MDW), though the odds of losing the MDW to Bankrupt even in the same round are bigger than losing the $10K because of both permanent Bankrupts now.

Really? Why? Because the MDW is causing so much controversy?

Because everyone takes it literally, but I can't really think of anything better to put in such tiny letters on such a tiny portion of the front of the wedge.

Apparently somebody who doesn't know how the MDW works posted that Julian is entitled to sue for accent discrimination. Maybe to be clear to that person...C is not a vowel.

Apparently somebody who doesn't know how the MDW works posted that Julian is entitled to sue for accent discrimination. Maybe to be clear to that person...C is not a vowel. I just posted on their Facebook page to explain to people that the producers go over the rules in detail to us and that spelling it all the way does not cut it. It needs to be pronounced right. They even ask everyone if they have an accent or speech issue that could affect how we pronounce words so they can make note to the judges to allow some flexibility. The thing that annoys me most is that these people don't realize that there's two other people on stage competing also and the show needs to be fair to those two people also.

As a student of journalism, I am ashamed of these so called "journalists" for not doing proper research, especially on game shows!

Pat said exactly the same thing during a stopdown while the 5/24/13 episode taped. They had to stop to see if a player's Speed-Up guess came before the buzzer or not, and the audience was literally chanting for them to rule in his favor, and Pat responded that there are two other players and you have to be fair to them.

Let's just set the record straight: a wedge is just a wedge. Period.

I...honestly don't think most of the media cares. Like I've said before, you get a lot more attention by bashing Wheel for making perceived bad decisions, and particularly if it involves the OMGMILLIONBUX Wedge.
