Well, confirms that Jeff/Leslie/Linda IS the premiere, that's good to know...

I find Wink's channel to have some really cool videos. I especially enjoyed the TPIR ones for Finish Line, Shower Game, Telephone Game, the It's Optional Debut, and the Punch-a-Bunch debut with different rules. That said, I feel that the famous "WHEEL! OF! FORTUNE!" and use of Changing Keys on daytime prior to the nightime launch may be due to that daytime shows were taped sooner in advance of airing, as TPIR and Family Feud show. Don't forget to like his page!

As Scorpz's calendars point out, it's the ninth playing. That said, I feel that the famous "WHEEL! OF! FORTUNE!" and use of Changing Keys on daytime prior to the nightime launch may be due to that daytime shows were taped sooner in advance of airing, as TPIR and Family Feud show. From an airing perspective, yes the daytime show changed its music first. From a taping standpoint, though, as far as I know daytime Wheel never taped more than about a week or two in advance. Either the date Alan Thicke's cues were replaced by Merv's (August 8, 1983) is wrong (always possible), or the original major distinction between the two versions was whose music was being used. Still, I agree on the stuff Wink's been putting out -- it really does seem like anything's possible, and he's only been around like this for two-and-a-half months!

Either the date Alan Thicke's cues were replaced by Merv's (August 8, 1983) is wrong (always possible), or the original major distinction between the two versions was whose music was being used. For the latter to make much sense to me, the production company had to have bought the music rights for a minimum of several weeks' worth of taping sessions at a time. In this scenario, I can see them not wanting to have their money go to waste and keep using the original daytime music for as long as they were allowed to.
