Just measuring one of the wedge's sides from top to bottom, MarioGS, how tall would the wedge be?

28 inches, the exact length of a typical store-bought posterboard. Here's a comparison of my wedge, an actual Prize Wedge from the 80s (same size as the ones today), and the mini $1,000 wedge that is absolutely dwarfed by the real thing.

Wowee! How'd you manage to get your hands on a genuine "Watches" wedge? Did you win it on eBay? You must be one lucky guy. It's freakin' huge!

Yep, Ebay. It's just about the size of a men's XL T-shirt.

Yeah, I knew that $1000 wedge was small when I got mine in March 2010. Here's something to put at the Wiki. Myth: The $1000 wedges given away by the show are real. Fact: They're fake and are in fact about half the size as a real wedge. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. You've been a wonderful audience! And thank you, MarioGS, for the info. So 28 inches. The Wheel's diameter is 90 inches, at least according to 2008 Chicago Tribune Wheels of Facts article that I'm still proud to own six years later. 28 times two is 56. So if the Wheel is indeed 7 1/2 feet in diameter, that means the its center is 34 inches in diameter. Please don't get me started with the circumference or area. Thanks again, MarioGS.

That same article also stated that wedges are 12" x 28".

I read that the Wheel's diameter is 102 inches = 8.5 feet in diameter. Meaning that the center would be 46 inches in diameter. Mario, you actually have an interesting picture that puts the size of the Wheel in perspective. Would you mind showing it? It's the one with me reaching down to pick up the 1/2 Car plate from my episode. My arm is as long as a wedge, and my hand is as big as one of the numbers on that wedge.

Thanks, Mario! That picture helps put the size of the Wheel in perspective. Still, can't help but notice that once you actually see it, it looks smaller than it does on TV.

I'm finding closer to 41 inches for the center of the Wheel, assuming the whole thing is 102 inches.

So they added another foot to everyone's favorite multicolored Roulette Wheel. So, i got two questions. The first question is for you Jonathan. Where did you read this? The second question is for anyone who can answer it. When was the Wheel's size increased - unless of course it was always 8 1/2 feet wide?

What is the official diameter of the wheel if know because from me eyeballing it while standing in front I would guess about 6.5 feet or so.

This article, which contains interviews from the 2008 Chicago tapings, states that the diameter is 7'6", or 90 inches. Though it seems someone on the staff either at WOF or CT forgot how Double Play worked. Shame on them!

So that would be 28/34/28 (wedge/center/wedge). I can believe that, although the PNG layouts currently suggest 27/36/27.

So I was only off by about a foot. Most people when I asked what they thought the diameter was before giving them my approximation was guessing over 10 feet.

Which would be roughly bigger diameter-wise, the Wheel on WOF, or the Big Wheel on The Price is Right (never really heard any stats on that thing either)?

I would say the TPIR Big Wheel is bigger, but not by too much.

I always thought TPIR's wheel was smaller than the WoF. Price's wheel is vertical, and it has to get through the Big Doors. Wheel's wheel does not have that requirement (though it does have to be transported for road shows).
