How do stations air Wheel? Do they get copies of the show, or do they take a stream from somewhere and air that? If they get copies, is it a file digitally sent to the station, or do they get physical copies on a DVD or other format?

If I remember correctly, tapes/DVDs are distributed to the affiliate stations. I recall this from calling my local affiliate to confirm that my episode was going to air as scheduled.

They're sent copies of the episodes. The recent slates suggest that stations receive it as an MXF file (Material Exchange Format. More info here)

From what I heard from talking with a cameraman who worked at KMID the days following a time swap with Jeopardy! for only one evening that they used copies of tapes.

So for stations that receive DVDs (or tapes), are episodes sent in a set, or is it one episode on each individual DVD? Also, what happens to the DVDs after?
