Over the past few days, BAV has received a shakeup of moderators; one who has left us, due to personal circumstances, thankfully good ones, and one who has just joined us.
First off, I'd like to bring our attention to our most recent retired staffer, woffan4ever. Dylan was a fantastic mod for us; the longest lasting of all moderators, at time of resignation, and was second longest in tenure behind me, of all staffers. He stuck with us through this, through times of no traffic, on a desolate highway, to times of fame, fortune, and explosion to where the site is now, an I-90 of Wheel information, no matter what the topic, era, time, or place. Thank you, for helping us through these times, and we hope your marriage, and your future goes well with your wife; you have a bright one, and will always be remembered as one of BAV's original, prominent staffers from the earlier years, like nowhammies11. You know what it was like on this page, with a different name, and times were hard here, and not too many can say that these days; but you have made a notable difference to move this site forward. I'll also remember your first S3 DPG, which will ALWAYS be the most expensive one we've had, at $56,000 alone if solved correctly. You made therealcu2010 and I realize only one doubler per puzzle needed to happen, or this game would be broken! Thankfully we caught it so early on, thanks to you, the game is much stabler as a result. We'd love to have you still here as like a regular member, though, if/when you have the availability; more minds, means more perspectives, and better groupthink. After all, when is that a bad thing? With that; one last hurrah, Dylan. Thank you for your service, dedication, and value to the site. I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did, because this site can truly be a wild ride, that no card can ever measure up to.
On the flip side of things, we have our new staff member, Flerbert419! Flerbie has been a long standing contributor of many fantastic game show pages, including Buy a Vowel, Golden-Road, and the Game Show Forum. He has also shown a brilliantly dry wit in humor, class when approached with difficult situations, intelligent analysis of shows, history of the genre, and creative, yet logical, outlooks on the future of various scenarios, such as who replaces Vanna, when that day comes. I cannot wait to see him in action. Flerbert is an example of what all posters should be like, in basically every, if not all, respects. He gets the 'it' factor of game shows, and is perfect for the future of Buy a Vowel, its future, and culture. Welcome aboard, and enjoy the ride; hopefully you'll get used to the zaniness of things around here, if you haven't already, sometimes weird things happen that you never expect. I am sure you will keep the tradition, quality standards, and general guidelines, sub-by-laws of the site, its decorum, and what to expect of other members. This is a treat to have a member of your quality on board; sadly, this is no cruise ship, and we lack the porterhouse, as it's summer, and the budget's a bit low around these parts...
Enjoy the changes everyone, and please, feel free to ask either individual, me, etc. any questions you may have about this, or, to just welcome them aboard! A warm BAV welcome would be much appreciated, if you are reading this. Don't make Flerb lose his turn to be congratulated, okay?
I will say though, we needed another staffer, simply because I'm due to have life-saving surgical matters probably summer or December holidays next year, outside chance of this year, which will keep me out an extended time, probably 1.5-3 months, and then a full year, for full recovery. To clarify that though, I'll still be here, but not at 100%, to say the least, probably tired, groggy, moodier than usual, and maybe a bit loopy, depending on how the morphine impacts me. As the date nears, with more specifics, I will let you have more information about this procedure, but seeing as the date right now is questionable, to say the least, that's for another thread, time, and date.
