I have a question regarding Wheel Prizes and Surprises back in the 90s.
I notice that in episodes seasons up to 11 would occasionally offer cars as Wheel Prizes and/or Surprises, but that appears to have stopped in Season 11.
Did they decide to no longer offer cars as Wheel Prizes as of Season 11 and beyond, or did they continue doing that; but on very rare occasions? I know that there were $10,000+ Prizes and Surprises in other occasions, but were there any cars offered as Wheel Prizes in Seasons 12-20?

My guess is that they stopped offering cars as Wheel prizes starting in either Season 14 or 16. I do remember that they were offered before the Puzzler was introduced, and Season 11 was the first one that I watched.

I don't have anything to confirm it right now (which is why I haven't touched that subject on the Wiki), but I do personally recall such prizes more than once in Season 13.

Yes, specifically at least one car and at least one pick-up truck.

Do you happen to know when? Additionally, you may have to put that on the history wiki.

Whoa, is that really the barrier to entry? Seems like you would want quality levels to be a bit higher than that. Time fades all of those recollections and mixes things together nicely into a big puddle of things that might or might not have happened.

I know it's a joint conglomerate deal we have with the History Wiki, but I think that policy needs to be changed, and fast, simply for the reason given. I mean, forgive my repetition here, but our goal was to become the top, if unofficial, US Wheel news source. We did that sometime ago, probably with the social media outreach, and we need to retain it that position. Having one of our partners, a big one that we use for record-keeping, stating that not only memory is sufficient, but stands until otherwise? That's a problem for both of us, Bobby, and you should know better. This makes us look a LOT less trustworthy in our record-keeping. It's troublesome. Granted, I don't think a lot of the Wiki is like this, but based upon such a policy, I'd have to imagine some of it is; we should have better quality than this. BAV requires it, I advise you for the well-being, as well as reputation, of your site, to do likewise.

To clear things up, the History Wiki does state when something listed is a recollection (which I've taken to unofficially define as "posts we found on ATGS/The Game Show Forum/Golden-Road/YouTube"). On the other side of the coin, comments made by Wheel staff and contestants are generally taken at face value unless there's evidence that says otherwise.
I can't speak for TPH, but I know I've definitely tried to search for confirmations on recollections. Sure, I've never been able to confirm everything for various reasons, but I've definitely found some interesting stuff while trying.

Sorry for the double-post, but some things I wanted to further clarify: For one, BAV is one of the sites included in my unofficial definition of "listed recollections" (along with JBoard, J! Archive, and the various other game show Wikis on Wikia) -- I just kinda forgot about this very place until after the edit window lapsed on the above post. ^_^; Secondly, as Flerb noted: Time fades all of those recollections and mixes things together nicely into a big puddle of things that might or might not have happened. Pretty much, yeah. While some seem to be consistent and in agreement (such as the hour format), others aren't (a Game Show Forum topic on the shopping format had a bit of back-and-forth; nearly everything I've found about Buy A freaking Vowel). Still, if there's anything the History Wiki's been good at, it's compiling scattered info from across the internet into a coherent whole, even if that whole consists of posts from the ATGS days (although given how some people would sometimes act and post there, it wouldn't surprise me if some of said recollections came from holes). That said, if the 1990s recollections of the Second Chance series are any indication when videoarchives1000 put up a late-run episode, the Wheel memories might not be as muddled or mixed as it currently seems. Finally, and I gotta be honest here...my enthusiasm for the History Wiki has dropped somewhat over the past few months or so for various reasons, including the recent Sony takedowns (which I don't wanna rehash) and the classic Wheel well going through such dry spells -- hence, in part, why the Video Archives haven't been redone after the substantial drop in quantity (I'm going to figure out how to restructure them later today, though, so don't worry ). Days unwind as time divides and sweeps them all away...

Yeah. If something comes only from one's recollection, I put that in as a caveat. However, I didn't put the "based on recollection" thing in the MOS as far as I can see.
