Some blue to the purple and some mint to the blue. Ain't that interesting, no? [chuckles] Well, I'm sure you know that wasn't the only one they used during the nineties. I'm still trying to figure out the font used in this layout. www.deviantart.com/art/Ninties-Audition-Wheel-164945363And when the WheelMobile came to Chicago Ridge Mall back in early 2002, I was lucky enough to see this layout. www.deviantart.com/art/Wheel-of-Fortune-Audition-Wheel-2001-350206867Now I do not know for sure the colors of four of the wedges, but I can tell you this. The words are at the center of each wedge (as opposed to the rim), and the letters spelling out some of the smaller words are not as tall as I made. The letters in the Mini-Pack and Surprise spaces are about the same size as one another, and they're narrower than in my recreation. The Shirt spaces' letters are about 1.5 or 2 times as big as those in Mini-Pack and Surprise. The Hat spaces' letters are about 1.5 times as big as those in the Shirt spaces. And I can assure you, WheelGenius, there is no shading on that Wheel. If you want to see the Wheel that I saw in 2002, I'll be more than happy to upload a picture of it to Flickr.

I find it surprising auditions used that Wheel for that long. It was used up until at least the auditions for the Season 27 Boston episodes in 2009, which is where that picture was taken. Soon after that, they finally updated it to the Season 26 Round 4 layout, and then added Free Play (but not the second Bankrupt) some months later, and this is still the layout they use today AFAIK. No telling whether they'll update it to the S32 layout, but the fact that they kept $200 and $250 for so long is telling. I wonder how many people back then would try to buy a vowel after calling a single on $200, since score isn't explicitly kept at auditions.

I'm not talking about the one you made, WheelGenius. It was very different in style, although the prize layout was the same. I might as well show you what it looked like. www.flickr.com/photos/12073552@N05/14780151694/BTW, for those who like the custom-made t-shirt I wore at the auditions, please check this out. Also, in case you're wondering, yes, this was indeed where and when I saw Nickname puzzle, AIR JORDAN - at the early 2002 auditions at the Chicago Ridge Mall. www.deviantart.com/art/WOF-T-Shirt-109050026

Now, I see it. So that was taken before the wheel was redesigned to how I recreated. Thanks so much for presenting that. Also, was it you who did the T-shirt design, or had it been done for you? And MarioGS, speaking of which, I used the Wheel layout from the "Vanna for a Day" toolkit since it has the dark green "Free Play" wedge, but added the purple $600 over the second "Bankrupt", and voila.

My mother and I made the shirt together, but it was me who came up with the design.
