Clips of this celebration have appeared in other places, but here's the full thing. Bob and Vanna namedrop their predecessors - Chuck, Susan, Summer, Pat, Alex, and even Rolf (the absence of Edd Byrnes indicates that the three pilots don't count toward this total).

Well, hopefully, the 5000th daytime episode was nowhere as disastrous as the 5000th nighttime episode. Since I know Sony doesn't want to make it easy, if there was some way we could still see the full episode.
BTW, I am going to make the cake layout as a custom layout for use on the Pressman Deluxe games.

Well, hopefully, the 5000th daytime episode was nowhere as disastrous as the 5000th nighttime episode. I should've clarified, sorry: it's not the 5,000th daytime episode (they barely got past 4,000 before being canned), but the 5,000th Wheel episode overall, counting both versions.

I should've realized that, but now that you mentioned it, it makes sense. I know that on the nighttime version, it takes a little over five years to air 1000 episodes. I don't, however, know how long it took on the daytime version to have that same number.

About four years, if the airdates for #2,000 (November 1982) and #3,000 (October 1986) are any indication. #785 was just over three years after the show debuted (January 18, 1978), which would put #1,000 in November or December of that year. #4,000 was around November 1990.
