From Walt Disney World in Orlando, it's America's game! We close up Some of the Greats week on...
Wheeeeeel Of Fortune!
Today's contestants:
Gary (March 1992, won $39,400), playing for Starlight Foundation
Kelly (up to $123,400 for his charity!)
Angela (October 1993, retired with $60,693), playing for Black Women in Sport Foundation
The top-dollar value on the Wheel is $1,000, but Kelly probably laughs. Here's our first puzzle:
Kelly solves CONTORTIONIST. Leave it to him to think of a sentence for an extra $500.
He says "If I were a pretzel, I'd be a good contortionist", and Pat thinks it's alright.
If I were a $2,500 space, would you like me?
Angela solves FOUND ON A WALL OR ON YOUR TEETH. Time for her to collect a $500 bonus...
What is a brace? Nope.
Gary! What is paste? Nope.
Oddly, Kelly remembers this is not Jeopardy! and just guesses enamel...
...for a triple stumper. We were looking for plaque. Even Charlie starts laughing. Pat starts hiding.
No need to hide, as they love you...to the $3,500 and one-third $10,000 spaces.
Angela was really unsure whether she wanted to spin for that last letter, which unfortunately did not matter in the end. After the BANKRUPT, she slumps over, and Kelly tries to "wake her up".
Kelly solves INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE BY ANNE RICE like a vampire, then starts biting Pat's neck.
Let's just get straight to the Final Spin. Consonants are worth...$5,000 a piece! Maybe we can get something real for charity.
Gary: N (DUD!)
Kelly: L ($5,000)
Angela: S ($5,000)
Gary: R (DUD!)
Kelly: H (x2) ($15,000)
Kelly says HOLD-THAT SHOE with about zero confidence.
Angela: P (DUD!)
Gary: W ($5,000) (and a guess of HELP-ME SHOW)
Kelly: P (Oops.)
Angela: T ($10,000)
Angela ends his streak by solving HALF-TIME SHOW for the victory!
Gary receives the $500 minimum for his charity. Kelly certainly won't receive the minimum, as he leaves with $124,900!
Gary walks off afterwards for unknown reasons.
BONUS ROUND:
This time, Angela gets a chance at an extra $25,000 for her charity, and she also brings her family to watch. But she must also face a puzzle...
RSTLNE gives her...
You cannot be serious. Twice in a row?
She returns PCOH (with the vowel displayed after the last consonant).
She does not solve COWBOY, but she still has $11,000 for her charity.
All of the "Greats" are brought back for the post-game. A total of $148,850 has been raised for charities!
