I'm surprised nobody has yet brought this up. Starting this season, CBS is starting Thursday Night Football. So this means that if Wheel is on CBS in your area, it means that it will likely be pre-empted in your area on Thursday nights. I just hope the affiliates do something to make it up.

Depends on several factors. For starters, some markets may not have Wheel on the CBS affiliate at all - in particular, my own market has it on NBC. Also, Wheel may not necessarily fall during football time, it depends on when the games are set to kick off and what time zone you're in.
So basically, check your local listings, and if you ARE going to be preempted, then ask your station what (if any) their plans are for make-goods.

All of the Thursday games are 8:25 ET kickoffs nationwide and it doesn't appear there's an extended preshow for them ( CBS's primetime schedule doesn't list anything). The only concern might be if there's something in your local market. Boston, for instance, may have a problem on 16 October (Patriots/Jets) but should be fine the other times.

It looks like there is going to be a weekly Kickoff show starting at 7:30 each Thursday. So if that's when it airs in your area and it's on CBS, it should be affected. Interestingly enough, here in Boston, WBZ will air Jeopardy! at 7:00 on Thursday, and Wheel at 1:52am. I don't know why they had to switch them around.

I don't know from what area takes the website where I watch WOF (I watch it in CBS), but the show that is postponed because of Thursday Night Football is Jeopardy!

The CBS station used for the USTVnow stream is WHP from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (which, as of the 2013-14 season, STILL airs Wheel and Jeopardy! with a 4:3 aspect ratio; hopefully that will change very soon). In that market, both game shows air on that CBS affiliate with Wheel at 7:00 and Jeopardy! at 7:30, so the latter is the one affected by football. Why would WBZ move Wheel to overnight and replace its normal, unaffected time slot with Jeopardy!? Does Jeopardy! have higher ratings in the Boston area?

I didn't realize WBZ elected to save Jeopardy instead. Are its ratings significantly higher than Wheel's here, I wonder?

Remember, just because Wheel airs on CBS in your area doesn't mean you'll be affected. I know I won't be; Wheel's on at 7 here.

Both WNEM and WBKB will pre-empt Wheel until very early Friday morning, so I'll put a placeholder up on Thursday nights and write the Thursday recap on Friday.
