So on Twitter today, I came across this picture, posted by @cooljepstories, an account that claims not to be affiliated with Sony. That's interesting, because this picture is heavily implied to be from an upcoming yet-to-air week...  - Note the variant of the logo on the top half of the envelope, the straight one - Pat tweeted early Saturday that the premiere week would be "an eventful week" - The Wheel in the background is still the Round 4 layout, so this very likely happens on a Wednesday show, if not a sixth episode |

This is unaffiliated. I know as much as you all, by the way, which is to say, just speculation, nothing more. I also don't think it's the obvious, but that's just one fan's uneducated guess. Only point of evidence/reference/etc. that hasn't been brought up is a Mosher tweet, from 8/27. Look it up yourself, if you want the details. |

Said tweet mentions that Season 32 "may just have a third milestone happen", which is pretty much code for "something extremely notable almost certainly happened, but you'll just have to watch to see if it's actually in fact something legit notable". "Third milestone" brings to mind the Million-Dollar Wedge, since the Bigger One envelope (Big One being the $100,000) has only been hit twice. If so, Pat's face suggests a $1,000,000 loss, but hey... @cooljepstories, an account that claims not to be affiliated with Sony. "I'm not affiliated with Sony. Now here's a picture designed to drum up ratings for a show I'm definitely not affiliated with, no sir!" Yeah, no, this feels like yet another publicity stunt. You're #1. ^ The text says the contestant is happy. I doubt he's masochistic.
I kinda doubt it's the million, we'll probably find out on Monday either way if you really want to look.
What they really need to do is update the 100k and million envelopes to standardize that logo. They probably don't care, but it does hurt some...

Having just watched this week's promo, I'm pretty sure I know what's happened (hence the spoiler tags below): Somebody won the Million, hence the "third milestone" Chad Mosher referenced. The Twitter photo suggests it's this week's blogger. The promo makes this abundantly clear, what with the line "Imagine what it's like for a teacher to win one million dollars." *cries in the corner* It really does feel like Wheel cares more about ratings than pretty much anything else. "We've been #1 for years and years and make 90 mill a year, but we still want more." A lot of people were gonna watch the Season Premiere week anyway because it's the start of a new season; they don't need extra incentive, especially if it's this transparent. |
