game shows in general need to stop telegraphing their big wins like this...makes some NOT want to watch if they know what will happen

Some shows seem to think that telegraphing will lead to big audience figures...and sometimes it does, but the numbers tend to kinda drop off afterward. I guess it's a bit of a double-edged sword, but from what I can tell the practice is generally frowned upon by viewers.

Yep... Tweet from someone who lives in St. John's, Newfoundland, where Wheel airs at 5:00 PM local time (on independent station CJON), equivalent to 3:30 ET:  EDIT: Further research shows that Wheel and Jeopardy! (which airs at 4:30 NL/3:00 ET) were just acquired by the station (branded as "NTV"), making this the first station since CBC to air Wheel before 7:00 ET, and currently the only known station to be doing so. |

The guy in that picture is clearly reacting like he won the Bonus Round, so if this is eventful, it IS a million dollar win, not a million dollar loss. Having to take the million dollar wedge with to the Bonus Round and only have a 1 in 24 chance of landing on the Million Dollar envelope, I'm confident there will NEVER be a million dollar loss on the show. |

Since when do other people get to decide if something I post on here is a spoiler or not? That statement I made about the million dollar win is just an OPINION. I don't know for a fact. I do know one thing. I'm watching tonight's Wheel episode and I see a contestant that matches the one in that picture, the black suit jacket, pink church shirt. BTW, I said it was a guy, it's a lady. |
