I'll still participate in this, but I won't be the least bit surprised if it's a fake wedge like the one they have pictured; purple and the wrong font. $350 wasn't even a standalone wedge. They probably just painted over it or ripped up the 3. If anything, they'll probably just make a standalone $350 with the same numbers they use on the Wheel layout with the shiny outlines and shadows (like the sole red $700 they used to replace Jackpot), which I'd be fine with.

Is it open to just US residents?

As per the official rules:
"Open only to permanent legal residents of the 50 states of the U.S. or D.C., 18 years of age or older as of 10/04/14."

Why just the $350 wedge? It makes NO sense.

Because of their claim that $350 was the old minimum on the wheel (as shown in their preseason press release). Which, Harry, the roving gang of $300 wedges would like a word with you...

They could've very easily offered multiple $300 wedges and $300 cash prizes, as many as there were on the Wheel prior to this season. Hm. Because of their claim that $350 was the old minimum on the wheel (as shown in their preseason press release). Plus, there was only one $350 on the Wheel at the end of last season, making it stand out more. Which, Harry, the roving gang of $300 wedges would like a word with you... Given they were around for 41 years and were absent from something like three layouts in the American franchise (the 1987-89 boat rug, a 1990s audition layout, and the 1999 collectible watch; thanks, Germanname! )...I think they've got far more than just "a word" for Harry. I gotta say...$300 was never a Big Freaking Deal. It came close in the early days, sure, but it was mostly middle-of-the-road or (since it became the minimum) low man on the totem pole, and that was fine. That said, it and Lose A Turn were pretty much the stalwarts of the Wheel, having coexisted since the original 1973 pilot as so much changed over the course of five consecutive decades -- not just Wheel itself, but TV and the world as a whole. And now that inflation's finally caught up and took all four sub-$500 values, the show opts not to focus on $300 (recognizing and commending it for putting in 40+ years of service before being honorably discharged) but $350, the singleton that officially got called the pre-S32 minimum and has its own contest while $300, $400, and $450 get shooed out with little or no fanfare. (Yes, I just wrote pretty much a eulogy to the $300 wedge -- for whatever reason, I felt a bit emotional thinking about it. Deal with it. ) As per the official rules: "Open only to permanent legal residents of the 50 states of the U.S. or D.C., 18 years of age or older as of 10/04/14." Okay, I've been thinking about this for a while now, especially since the show devoted a week to Canada just after the CBC picked up Wheel and Jeopardy! -- why doesn't Wheel allow Canada to participate in the SPIN I.D. stuff or any contests?

That's pretty typical for Canada and the contests. I do know that NBC prime time game shows were also like that, and Game Show Marathon on CBS was like that.
For some reason, Last Comic Standing allowed Canada to vote for the best comic at first, but then stopped.

I've participated in it already. It'd be something worth taking care of after all of its abandonment from those home games.
Best of luck to anyone here who enters. If anyone here wins it, please show us a photo. If I win, I promise to do likewise.

I entered the contest myself but I think they could also have given away $300, $400, and $450 wedges and cash prizes as well as the $350.

I'm so sorry, but I'm going to have to take all that cardboard from you, all 8 tags and wedges.

As per the official rules: "Open only to permanent legal residents of the 50 states of the U.S. or D.C., 18 years of age or older as of 10/04/14." Gee, that stinks! I'm Canadian, and I entered, so if I win, I'll have to figure something out Oh well, I probably won't win, seeing as there have been lots of entries (but WOF's FB page liked my entry, so I really have no clue). Thanks, Royce (awesomesolver) _JOUrz0J

That wasn't me. It was some other lucky bastard. And for the record, this entry should've won.

I just saw it at Facebook, MarioGS (I also sent you a friend request), and believe it or not, I was actually wondering whether or not it was you. Well, listen. Congratulations. It delights me to know a fellow elite Wheel of Fortune fan won it. With a video that I so badly want to download and watch over and over and over and over again on my iPod, you deserve it. Now all I did was give a comment for an entry. I know it didn't have much of a chance, but I'm glad I tried. Please take good care of your $350 MarioGS. I'm looking forward to seeing a photo of you with it.

Thanks, guys. On a more serious note, my jaw dropped when I saw this entry. How much money do you think he'd want for all of that?

One thing, and I mean this really seriously...give the guy his peace. I'm happy about that, very strongly, Mario knows that as much as me.
But as awesome as he is, he's a person like all of us. Please give him his peace, do not ask him for social media stuff, friend requests, etc. unless he's okay with it. As far as I know, he's typically not. There's quite a few reasons for this, the least of which is other show matters, most importantly, just not wanting to be bombarded with people. It's just his style, you know? You have to respect that.
So far I'm happy, with 99% of the reactions we've had here, but I'd rather have this out there now, as opposed to it being too late, and somebody does something stupid that compromises his privacy, and/or potentially harms the site's future, if indirectly. If you're not sure about it, don't know it.

Thank you, Jess. I usually prefer to remain very private online (hence why I don't go by my first name on this site and I still prefer not to), especially in this day and age, but with Wheel of Fortune history on the line here, I just couldn't say no. I'll leave it at that. I was actually going to delete the video from the page if it didn't win. Please, nobody post any kind of links, screenshots, pictures, etc. Thank you. Regardless, I appreciate all your support. I definitely will post pictures of the wedge here when it comes.
