I have a co-worker preparing for her filming next week. She's been asking me questions since I was on 3 years ago, but she had a question I wasn't sure about since I taped the first show of the day and left the studio soon after my taping.
If she is one of the later shows, is there somewhere her family can grab a snack during the break between the 3rd and 4th show? Can they bring their own food in to the studio for that time to eat?

I was on the 4th show of the day just after the break. My family said they went to the gas station across the street from the studios and grabbed sandwiches. They said that was about it. :/

I can't speak for certain, but I would assume that food and drink are not allowed in the audience area. They might be able to go to the studio's cafeteria, but that might be for staff only. You might want to have her call the studio or contestant department and ask. If they have to go off site to get something to eat, there's supposedly a good, quick place across the street from the studios called Victor Jr.'s, who apparently provides the pizza and sandwiches for contestants during the break. My family said that after the 3rd game, they were able to go out, walk, and get food, but you can't bring the food in the studio. They said that there was also a vending machine within the vicinity.

I could have sworn that when I was taping (I was the sixth show of the day), I saw some of the other guests of contestants carrying vouchers for $10 at the Sony Pictures Studios cafeteria, but in any event, even if they don't get that, there are some convenience stores and vending machines nearby. They'd have to be quick about it, though, because the mid-break is only 30 minutes.

I was the first taping also, but the good news is the set is not far from the gate, but they do have to be quick.

That's right. In fact, I still remember the hotel bus taking a very short drive from the gate to the stage itself. I do recall seeing a couple of convenience stores just outside the gate, too.
