Questions from a Contestant- What happens now?

Hi, Jamie! Congratulations on making it on the show!

I haven't been on the show, but I can answer some of your questions, and the ones I can't can surely be answered by many of our other contestant members.

1. You should be getting some photos Emailed to you within a couple weeks of the episode's airing. This is typically the picture of you standing at the Wheel before the taping began. After the show airs, you can request more photos that might involve gameplay. You probably won't get these photos before your airdate so that you don't give anything away by posting them early. When that time comes, I'll give you the Email.

2. There really isn't any way to purchase WOF merchandise in stores, but Ebay is a great place to check. Also, one of our members got a good bunch of merchandise for her viewing party and a lot of it went unused, so she offered to send them to me or to anyone else I know who might want them. She doesn't log on here much anymore, but I can give you her Email if you like.

4. Twitter is a great place to get in touch with WOF contestants. If I find any from your week when it airs, I'll let you know.

5. I can't answer this for sure, but I think I heard that WOF chooses more than one person to write for the blog then chooses the best one for the site. I'm sure someone can answer this to the fullest.

From one contestant to another, let me echo the congratulations; I'm sure you had a blast up there.

Most of your questions have already been astutely answered by our own MarioGS, but I should point out about the contestant blog: from my week, Trent (the blogger for our week) simply asked the contestant producers if he could do it and they said something like "Well, let me check with social and we'll see." Guess that was enough for him to do it.

It's a very non-scientific process as to whom they pick, I'm sure, but tl;dr I don't think there's a formula per se.

I'll just answer parts 1 and 5 as I didn't go shopping and I'm not crafty when it comes to party planning. About a week before the show airs, you'll receive an email from the publicity department with the photo they took of you at the wheel and any others you were in. You can reply to the email asking for any additional ones, if needed.

As for the weekly blog, they do take requests into consideration, but I'm guessing they'll have someone in mind after the taping of who they want to do it. About a month after taping I received a phone call from a woman who was in the department that ran the website, asking if I was interested in doing a blog entry for College Week (I did not ask at the taping, so it was a surprise). Asked that I have it done in a week and submitted my entry along with a release form. If you're having trouble with what to write, they include a sheet with some questions to get your mind going.
