After a long hiatus, I'm back with a bunch of old recaps I found in an old WordPad document of mine.
They're gonna be different from my other recaps, as they will not show the puzzles as they're shown when solved and several other differences. Some gameplay details may be left out. They are NOT from Google Groups, btw.
Players
Bill Herbalino: journalist from East Rutherford, NJ
Dave Sorf: accountant and musician from San Francisco
Beth Hendrix: one-day champion with $9,946
Round 1 ($1,000 and the SURPRISE added) - PHRASE
YOU HAVE A VIVID IMAGINATION solved by Bill for $1,750.
Scores so far:
Bill: $1,750
Dave: $0
Beth: $0
Pre-Round 2 Prize on the Wheel: home office package worth $2,398 (likely marked "OFFICE" on the Wheel)
Round 2 ($2,500) - FILL IN THE BLANK
? ROBIN ? STEAK ? OF GOLF solved by Beth for $3,600, the home office (picked up with an N), and the SURPRISE (picked up with an S). She wins another $500 by correctly filling in the blank as ROUND, so she wins $4,100 that round. The SURPRISE she wins is a necklace worth $3,000.
Gameplay Notes:
*Beth lost her turn twice when she had both prizes in her bank. Fortunately, she lucked out.
Scores so far:
Bill: $1,750
Dave: $0
Beth: $9,498
Round 3 ($3,500 and the $10,000 wedge added) - CLUE
THE YEAR DISNEYLAND OPENED solved by Bill for $11,900! Unfortunately, nobody could correctly guess 1955 for the $500 Bonus. Bill guessed 1964, Dave guesses 1959, and Beth guessed 1957.
Scores so far:
Bill: $13,650
Dave: $0
Beth: $9,498
Round 4 ($5,000) - THING (also a speed-up round for $5,000 per consonant!)
FINAL SCORES
Bill: $13,650
Dave: $25,000 (winner; great comeback!)
Beth: $9,498 (2-day total of $19,444)
Bonus Round
Dave picks the second E.
Category: THING
Sarting with the RSTLNE...

Dave's choices of D, B, M, and A give her...
M E N _
...and he BLOWS IT! UGH! All he guessed was MEND. Because of that, another $25,000 that was practically handed to him on a silver platter goes unclaimed. Dave's one-day total is $25,000 cash and he will be back on Monday to defend his title (I will be recapping that week).
