A bit concerning that they tied it into "plans to cheat", but understandable for legal reasons, of course. It seemed to me like a CYA thing.. they 'had' to mention it, like you said, for legal reasons. Seriously, how could you cheat? I've never understood how people could try and cheat at WOF. I don't think it's so much cheating on the puzzles, but the idea of conspiring to 'throw' a game and split the winnings or something. Like I said, the whole tone was sort of, "We've got to mention this for legal reasons, but we're not worried about it." Meanwhile.. How many more hours until May 18 at 7:30 p.m. EST?  ?  |

Just to chime in with my two cents here-- the moment this conversation came up was when the lawyer was asking "So nobody knows each other in here, right?" and so that's when I piped up I had 'met' tuffy online. Granted, I've exchanged messages with tuffy from when we got our letters (Hooray! Congrats!) through when we got the calls to go on the show (Hooray! Congrats! It's exciting!) but it's not like we exchanged much personal information aside from where we're from, what we like to do... basically our "Pat Chat" info & just sharing our feelings of excitement together... it was just nice to know that someone else from the Denver area was going through the same process as me! I hadn't seen her in person until we met in the lobby of the hotel the morning of the taping! But the lawyer earlier on had said "It's better to disclose than to not!" so I just figured I'd mention that I had virtually chatted with tuffy. No big deal, but I figured it was better to be safe than sorry!  |

When I won the trip from the local ABC affiliate, that's why it took forever for everything to go through. I wanted to make sure accepting the trip didn't ruin my chance of being on the show. ABC had to contact Sony who contacted their lawyers. It was a cycle but I'm glad I did it. I would have hated to get all the way to CA and then miss out on the once in a lifetime experience. |

Congrats to Kathy and Mellissa on their hard-earned victories this week! With the addition of their winnings, we are now just under $200,000 away from $4 million total winnings collected by BAV contestants, if my statkeeping at the BAV Winners' List is correct.
