I remember reading on Wikipedia a while back that Wheel used to be on in India. That info was removed, possibly because there was no proof. If that was why, I think it should be put back on. This looks like somewhere between the mid 90s and early 2000s.
Now with the word Surf, I wouldn't be surprised if Surf was the detergent company that sponsored the show. It a detergent brand sold in India, the United States, and other countries. In fact, back in the 1990s, my family used Surf before switching to Tide as a result of a science fair project that I did when I was in 5th grade.

Is this the intro to the show or a promo of some sort? Hard for me to tell.
Also given that written Hindi has 11 vowels and 33 consonants I wonder what the rules of the game were.

Well, eybyon, you'll find out right now because I am pleased to announce that the same folks who uploaded that Title Track video 2 1/2 months ago have uploaded an entire 1997 episode! Now although 750, 850, 900, and 950 are not Wheel Rs. values (much to my disappointment and contrary to the Wheel seen in the intro), I'm happy to say that 650 is. Now here are some things I thought I'd point out. If you land on Free Spin, you must call a letter in order to be awarded it unlike the American 1973-1989 version where you're automatically awarded it. Vowels are not bought. They are treated like consonants, exactly like Brazil's current version. Solving a puzzle awards an Rs. 1000 bonus. The Speed-Up round is similar to Greece's version back in the early 1990s. You still keep your turn as long as you keep calling correct letters. Now this is a special "Winner of the Month" episode. So no Bonus Round will be played. Instead, the winner will receive a brand new car. Who will it be? Watch the episode to find out.
