Welcome to Season 33!
As has become tradition around these parts at the premiere of a new season, we’re debuting a brand-new look to the forums to coincide with it. This year’s theme is “Big Winners”, honoring several members of our fine forums who have actually made it onto the show…can you figure out who all of the people are in the header? Credit for the concept itself goes to our own Josh Woo, while Scott and Mario actually put the whole thing together, with the latter once again providing his artistic talents, which we continue to appreciate each and every year. You rock, dude!
Of course, if you like your theme, you can keep your theme. All of the themes dating back to Season 30 remain available, and you can freely select one of the others in your profile settings.
In addition, we are pleased to announce that we have relaunched the official Buy a Vowel Boards Facebook page! We’ve had more contestants than ever join these boards lately, a lot of them coming thanks to our Twitter feed (@bavboards), and we’re reaching out to an even wider audience by connecting via Facebook as well. The link to the new Facebook page, along with our Twitter feed, can be found at the very bottom of the page…look for the respective buttons.
I am also pleased to announce that we have added jjman920 to the ranks of the site staff as a member of our Social Media Team, and you can look for his tweets regarding the show when the season premiere airs this evening.
If you haven’t already noticed as well, we have officially reopened our mock game section, now called Stage 11 ¾, and being headed by Director whammy007. If you are interested in participating and hosting, check out that section for more details.
Finally, you may remember that a few months ago, I announced that Jess and I had decided to step down as admins of the forums. After spending the summer in various discussions with each other and other members of the staff, we have reached a consensus that perhaps we aren’t quite ready to step aside just yet…and as such, we’re staying around a bit longer after all. However, we do plan to continue to become less involved with the day-to-day affairs of the site, and allow our wonderful team of moderators to take care of site business, though we will be around if any major problems arise.
Enjoy the show!
