So most anyone who knows me outside of this board/twitter knows I'm not an arts and crafts kind of guy. I have a ton of respect for all the work that you guys do on your wheels but I would be the guy that likely nailed himself to a wooden plank and would get so frustrated and give up.
After hosting Family Feud at a friend's game night, I decided that I wanted to do more at-home game nights like that with her and on my own with other game shows and decided to revisit Spinning Designs for their assistance. Years back, they sold a carnival style wheel on eBay that was reminiscent of the design of the wheel from the early/mid 00's, including the rarely seen $1000 space that was always covered by the top dollar amount. I never had the money to get that in college and felt like that item was always the one that got away. Because, if you were like me, that crappy spinner with the Pressman Board game never quite it did it for me.
I teamed up with MarioGS(or more like begged for his help) and after months of back and forth with each other and the company, I finally got the Wheel in today. It's 36 inches in diameter and probably slightly taller than that because it is on a table stand.
Mario's artwork is beautiful and impressive. The wheel had to be placed in a vectorized graphic, so while the holographic effect is gone from the Wheel shadow, there's a nice, white outline on those numbers that looks good.
You may be asking why I selected the amounts I did. The $2000 space will always be covered by another top dollar amount,, 1000/1250 will be covered up by Mystery and/ Express. And 1500... how can you not want $1500 on the Wheel? In yellow, in it's rightful place next to a Bankrupt? Plus the 1250/1000/1500 on the wheel during a speedup will keep a game from being a complete runaway if I land on it and add the extra 1000 to it.
I'm going to work with them to see if the yellow 900 peg can be fixed on it or replaced, but overall the Wheel is smooth and perfect for my at home, non-profit, gaming needs(Hear that SONY? Don't send the lawyers after me!).
The biggest hurdle comes this weekend and the following week... when RaymondWPS finds the Martha Stewart that dwells inside of him to create the puzzle board! I'll keep you posted!
And again, the BIGGEST THANK YOU to my Twitter and Wheel of Fortune Brother for life, MarioGS! I owe you bigtime for your incredible efforts. You're amazing!
