Well, as Pat sometimes says, we have good news/bad news around here. The bad news is that this only consists of the intro, contestant interviews, and the first spin before the tape runs out. The good news is that I found today the opening clip to the May 15, 1989 daytime episode. The contestants are Louise, Linda, and Kathie, with Linda being a one-day returning champion who won $8,378 on the previous Friday. The category of the first round is Phrase and the first spin lands on the blue $500 next to the $750, and the first letter called is T, in which three are in the puzzle, making the board look like this:
T_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ T _ _ _ _ T _ _ _
The prizes featured in the intro include an $18,600 Toyota Camry station wagon, a penguin with diamonds/gold in its chest (no value given), and a $7,518 baby grand piano. Other prizes visible are a $750 World Book Encyclopedia set, trips to San Diego, the Virgin Islands, London, and a red Jeep Comanche pickup truck is also visible on the right. $87,000 is the dollar amount announced for the week and the graphics/Vanna's dress are in blue.
Still, given that there is only one episode in full from the Rolf/Charlie portion of his run, something I'd like to share with you. Too bad the tape was recorded in SP mode since that would have also meant a Scrabble and Win, Lose or Draw on this tape.

I think this post goes in "Buying Your Time"? It does. The retro recap section is for just that...recaps. This isn't even close to resembling one. MOVED
