Also featuring the debut of the $2500 and $3500 spaces, and perhaps the first show ever to have a fifth round.

Ooh, it's the yellow $1K wedge with the oversized zeros! Oh, how I've missed you!
I remember watching this episode as a kid. Can't wait to watch it later and relive my childhood!

and perhaps the first show ever to have a fifth round. Maybe the first syndicated show, but I think daytime would have had contestants play for cash on special episodes. (Speaking of, was the April 1983 episode played for cash, or did it have shopping? I never got to see it.) Even then, there's a confirmed Woolery era show from 1980 with five rounds and shopping.

I think daytime would have had contestants play for cash on special episodes. They did, but from what I can tell it was pretty rare. There's an Armed Forces Week show from 1981 where, due to being the Friday Finals, it was played for cash. (It's also only the second known pre-Bonus Round instance of a five-round game.) (Speaking of, was the April 1983 episode played for cash, or did it have shopping? I never got to see it.) I don't remember, although I think it was played for savings bonds (as they tended to do for Teen Week Friday Finals shows). I only saw the episode once (it hasn't been online since), and the only thing I can remember vividly is the whole "burger garnished with $200" thing.

This is a fun episode to watch online in reruns, however that yellow $1000 is so plain, i much prefer the sparkling peridot one from the 1990's, the regular color doesn't make it stand out. Also the night time is finally able to be told apart from daytime, and the only thing wrong with that $25k sign is the green-ness of it, making it hard to see against a blue backdropñ glad it only lasted a year.
