Due to breaking news on the Paris terrorist attacks going on right now, Wheel will likely be preempted in some or most areas. Check your local listings to see if it may be moved in your area.
Keep them in your prayers...

CBS is airing an optional extra half hour of its national newscast. Some affiliates have switched to Jeopardy! or Wheel. ABC and NBC's special newscasts were still the usual half hour, so Wheel will likely only be affected wherever it airs on CBS at 7:00 PM EST.
Surprising that only CBS is extending their coverage for this, really...

The featured prize on Wheel tonight is a trip to Paris... West Coast people, you might get an explanatory crawl...

ABC is now airing a live Special Report at 7:30 EST, doesn't seem like it's going to be ending within a few minutes.
So was ABC World News an optional full hour after all, for anyone who watches J! or Wheel on ABC in the Eastern or Central time zones? New York still aired Jeopardy! at 7:00, probably because it was the TOC. At least this saves face for Wheel in some areas for the unfortunate timing of tonight's show...

diego9: As of now, no. Unless somebody who did see it puts it online (although I doubt this since the two people I know who record Wheel regularly both get it at 7:30 on ABC affiliates), you likely won't be able to see the episode unless it reruns in the summer or next year. Sorry. There is a chance your station may air it tomorrow, though. Wheel is not airing at all tomorrow in NYC, however, as it was already being preempted for a local special. SmashWhammy: The only time Wheel ever scheduled a current-season episode on a Saturday nationally was the first million dollar win episode. Some stations may air Friday's episode on Saturday independently, though, because they sometimes might push back the rest of the week by a day to make up for a preemption.

My station 11 Alive (NBC) out of Atlanta didn't break in for new which surprised me.
I also noticed the France trip on the wheel. I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't pull this episode and air it later because of this---I'm not saying they should've done this, it just surprises me that they didn't.

I think they would need at least 12 hours to swap an episode on the schedule. I don't even think 12 hours is realistic.

I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't pull this episode and air it later because of this---I'm not saying they should've done this, it just surprises me that they didn't. Mecha is exactly right. If this were a network-based show, like The Price is Right, it would be coming from a master control system and sent directly to the stations via live(ish) feed. In that case, it would be a simple matter to just change what episode is being aired from the network side of things, possibly a matter of mere minutes. Wheel, however, is syndicated, which means they link the affiliates the day's episode and then each station downloads and schedules it on their own time. Given the short window between the incident and most affiliates' air times, there was just no chance of A) Wheel reacting fast enough to change the posted episode, and B) every station having time and resources to download a new one to plug into their lineup. Had this happened on Thursday, I expect there would have been enough time to make a change for Friday, or at the very least insert a spiel about the show being taped and scheduled well in advance of the incident. But with a span of just a couple hours, there was next to nothing that could be done. Some stations put a crawler on-screen explaining the situation, and that was about the best option available given the circumstances.
